Help Me About Talking To My Mom?

I'm not sure if this is the right place but i couldn't find another okay place.

So back in august i was put on probation and my parents found out i smoked, i told them that i didn't do it anymore and they calmed down and mostly forgot about it.
So today i look in the drawer under my bed where i keep my bong and i found a note from my mom saying that we need to talk about this. So i wrote a note myself and im going to give it to her some how inconspicuously. This is what it says:

Mom,

Yes I lied to you, I’m sorry. The last time I smoked was about a month after I got on probation, because I was stressed about it. I wanted to relax and it helps me do just that. I haven’t done it after that, and I’m not going to do it while I’m on probation anymore. I’m not going to ruin my life with this, and I’m not going to get into other drugs, and that is a promise. I am responsible about it, I don’t go out and have the chance of being caught, and I don’t spend all of my money on it. When I get a job I won’t go to work high, when I get a car I won’t drive high, I won’t go to school high, and I wouldn’t go to any family gathering high. I agree that you have no reason to trust me; I’ve lied to you and lied to you. It’s not like other drugs, there is very little if any negative health effects. It has been proven to help with plenty of illnesses, including cancer, chronic pain, and insomnia. I am being completely honest, I don’t do it heavily, and I wouldn’t really want to. I’m sorry I’ve disappointed you almost every month this year, but I have come clean and I’m staying out of trouble. I would really like your support with this, but I know you probably won’t.
I love you,
Ashton

Do you guys think that this is good? Is there anything that you think i should add? and if any of you all have talked to your parents about you smoking what did you say and if they are okay with it how did you get them to be ok with it? I would love some quick responses so thanks.

you are just perpetuating every stereotype about the cannabis culture we need to get away from.

Grow up and move out and smoke other than that its the parents house, their rules

the smartest thing to do is to just not say anything. shes gonna know that you plan to smoke becuase you went to get your bong when you found the note if you undesrtand what im saying I would just not say anything until she brings it up and then be like "oh I forgot I even had that lol". then tell her that stuff youll be okay.

Its ok just wait until your 18. If you really wanna know what to SAY.. . Save every penny work your ass off until then and on your 18th birthday(you may need to wait until your 21 if you live* with them) but just Spark up a nice blunt :D and tell them to Fk'off :D .. .they will eventually love you again.

There is a good chance that your Mom has smoked when she was younger.
Sit the fuck down with her and talk ... maybe even share a bong ... seriously.

Yes. . . they will most likely deny it & pretend their perfect but at the end of the day.. .if you act mature & know what your talking about they'll stop treating you like its the end of your life. :O

This is exactly what happened to me when it was found out I smoked at 17....they (meaning parents in general) will be in denial for some time...unless they were born in the '50's...and toked often...parents from that era seem to be more undstanding and not so ignorant about it. Every person at some point has tried mary-jane. You aren't a bad guy Aman, you gotta realise that deep down, right??

Peace, and love,

Buddy:)

how old are you? your really doing yourself a disadvantage smoking if you are under 18. drinking isn't the answer either. life isn't so bad and fuck, you have it easy right now living at home. if you think life is stressful, wait until you get into the real world.

Agree with poopmaster. (I can't believe I just typed that). You don't need the magic weed that much when you're a teenager. It's when you have to work the shitty 9-5 every day that it really comes in handy. Your brain is still developing so you shouldn't smoke it all day, every day. Bottom line is you are your mom's slave until you move out. Your note is fine but I doubt it will convince her to let you toke up in your room. You're lucky in a way though, my parents probably would have smashed that bong.

I disagree with both of you,
Not to cause conflict but ive worked with youth/teens before.
a good example to show what i mean is you could sit 4 different people down (adults, children, teenagers, whatever) and pull out a syringe for a blood test,
every single one of them would act individually.
one may have no fear, 1 could pass out from the thought, 1 may have a mild fear of the pain and 1 will have a phobia and run out of the room.

Just because some one is young there is no way to compare how stable their psychological state is, some people will kill themselves over a video game and others can battle on all their entire lives even if everything is against them and still be positive.

I agree that mind altering substances for young minds isnt the best thing for them, but my old motto used to be "do what you need to do to stay alive" and ofcourse that has limmitations.

Also to the OP your better off sitting down and talking with your mom as others have suggested, i assume you arent too good with verbal skills as your writing a note, but if you speak your words to her she cannot interpret them any other way, but trust me if she reads the note its her mind making the assumptions, if she assumes your guilty and her subconscious has a track record of it as you suggested then shes just going to assume the worst.
Dig deep and find a heart felt apology, tell her that she can throw the bong out if she hasnt already.

wow, pot smoking was the ~BEST~ most happy time (High school) for me.
Id not recommend any one to miss out on those days.

But for growing up and working 9 to 5 its not bad if you don't get a crappy wife, crappy kids then get a divorce and debt.

Any way dont miss out on pot smoking, just get your priorities correct, focus on college and smoke if it makes you happy because not that many things can.

This guy says the most realiest thing you can do. Just man up and forget about it and take that as a warning or talk to her like a man. Always say to yourself Im a man now, act like it.I started saying that when I turn 16. Dont give her that immature letter. Thats for kids man up boooyyyy
