Hello to everyone, i am planning a setup in a growspace 4x6 and 3x600w HPS that i am thinking about using (1200w in veg, 1800 in flower). I have got some questions for which i would really appreciate some answers!

1)I am considering a veg time of about 45 days. Do you think it would be better to have 6 plants in 5 gal smartpots or 12 in 3 gal smartpots? I don't know if i could run into space issues with 12 plants with a veg period of 45 days. And also, i don't know if yield would be that much different with 12 plants in 3 gals versus 6 plants in 5 gals.

2)I am thinking about starting my seeds with 1x600w since having 2x600w for seedlings in the first days of their lives would be a waste of electricity. From what week approximately would it make a difference if i added the second 600w? I want to conserve as much electricity as possible.

3)I have 3 cooltubes for those lights. Do you think a 6" fan rated at 400 CFM would be able to cool those 3 lights by pushing through the cooltubes? In total i have 3x6" fans rated at 400 CFM each (and 3 5" fans rated at 200 CFM each but i don't want to use them). I was thinking about exhausting the growspace with the other 2 6" fans.

Any answers would be much appreciated!Thank you very much for reading this!

first off my experience. with the lights your pushing hps if you can fit the 12 plants in 5 gallon pots would be perfect 4 plants per 600 very best way to go max yield. if not I would put 12 plants in 3 gallon pots. sence I know I can get a plant 7 feet tall in a smart pot. but need to water every day and heavy. second veg. you only need small lights 12 plants I would use 400 watts no more other wise wasteing money, electric. I veg 40 plants 3 feet tall with only a thou watts metal halide. cfl you would easily get away with 400. starting seeds. only use a cfl like a 25 watt bulb it will be fine until they grow 4 inches tall and you transplant them into bigger pots then you turn on the bigger lights . or your wasteing electric. and for you cooling you will need 3 fans . 1 fan per light. take my word on it. those 400 cfm can get for 35 dollars each. im an expert dealing with fans and these lights been there done that. your in a small space, you need to keep it cool. if you were desperate you could use 1 fan 2 lights but the second one will be hot. the third in line for get about it . no choice get the 3 fans.

i would run 12 plants . i also would run them with 2 1000s it would fit the space better and provide better penetration and denser buds. i would use a dim able ballast for veg. You could run 6 plants but only if they
are good yielding and branching plants. Otherwise the 12 would be much better. '
As for fans it depends on intake air temperature going to them. If i was going 3 lights or had any turns in the duct i would run 2 fans.
