Help me find a strain

Ya I've done some training( lollipop, lst, topping/pinching) but never a scrog. I did find out the hard way what happens when do too much at once and nearly killed a few plants stunted them with bad harvest. But again I wasn't sure about doin any training with autos. I guess it's just weird to me that they just start budding on their own and I makes me alitte nervous as to when to start training and how long my window is before I need to quit stressing the plants.
This is how I did it,
First Top at 3-4 Nodes, then I remove just the lower leaves before the 2nd node and leave it like that for at least a week maybe 2 then if the new stems from the first top have made their own 3 nodes I top again, leave alone for a week, then I tie the longest stems down ready for scrog. I might top one more time after scrog if required and rescrog after, double nets.

Time Line after Auto pops up:
After first 2 weeks 1st Top
3 week 2nd Top
If No Flowering at 4th week I may top again - DON'T TOP if you see Flowering start, will stunt and reduce yield.

So basically I only top them 2x during veg, the 3rd top happens if required and ONLY IF No Flowers have started.
Every time you top you will get at least 2 new stems based upon method.
We don't have much time with Autos so it's based on growth and mainly internal time, consider you have on average 3 good weeks before they start to Flower.

NB Every time you Top, remove lower leaves to push grow power back to the top where you removed it's growth, by doing this they get stronger and the tops regrow faster, within 2-3 days you should notice difference.

You nailed it! I think you just talked me into trying Autos! The only other issue I had with then I'd having to start from seed wverytime but I don't have the means for a perpetual garden yet so this is the route I will take. Now on to find which Auto I want to use. Thank you so much for breaking that down for me. And when removing lower leaves should I do that the same day I top? That won't stress plants too much? Double nets? I remember seeing s thread about scrog I will have to go back and check the guidelines on how big to make squares and height of net and all that.

Ye when I top I also remove lower leaves, forget cloning for Autos cause the clone's life is based upon the stage of the plant when you cut it, in otherwords less yields from Auto clones, whereas this isn't the case of Normal strains due to not being genetically modified beforehand.

Most Autos are 70-80 Days based upon strain, i usually divide this data by 2, so for example I have WW XXL, Comprehensive life cycle 80 days, therefore I consider this 4-5 Weeks or around 40 days as Veg and then 40 Days pure Flower/Bud.

"Now on to find which Auto I want to use."
Why not try White Widow it's fairly robust but rly there are so many, they all seem to work fine if from known brands which focus on genetics so go for basically what you would like to grow :) It'll give you even more reason to do it right aight :eyesmoke::weed:

Double net scrog but not always, here is example, at 12"+ first scrog just to hold them down, most Veg Autos hit that within the 1st month, so due to topping they do go up a bit and in some situations I need to even out all the growth again so they get full coverage again. So basically my 1st scrog is to train them into possition the second is to enforce it because after the first scrog they are still growing in Veg and they have been topped so they will grow more and most probably out of that initial netting/scrog. One of my last Autos was Over 26" that is over 2 feet in veg just before it started to flower.

Double scrog example

You can DIY scrog with a string ball and a wooden frame add some nails on the frame to hold the string in possition:) Each square 10x10cm, you could even add strings to lift the frame so you adjust height :bigjoint:

Hope it helps :)

Before I placed them under scrog as you can see from picture, I removed most of the non required leaves to allow good air under. I could have cut off more but being Autos they don't produce much leaves so I left some just to sustain growth while the ones removed help build growth on the top where I had topped.
Also due to high humidity if I didn't do this it would have brought molds and fungus - now they have a nice airflow.

Check out my grow journal, growing over 10+ different strains and even some auto strains; im going to watch him this thread as I'm doing a different meathod or combination of methods to each strain including topping autos :) good luck growing!! Keep us updated
