Ok. Gotcha. Well what I'm saying is you use bleach the entire grow.Yeah i use h2o2 at res change to clean out my hoses. Top up with hydroguard a day or two after I know the h2o2 wont kill the hydro guard
Didn't have an issue last grow using on hydroguard no pump and water temp at 78-80. Got another 2 started although I think one isnt going to make it the tap root grew up and out of my cubes for some reason at least I have a clone of the dead plant(only have enough space and light for two plants) also thanks for responding with something other than use soil, it just seems to complicated to use soilOk. But it is weird you had issues while using a chiller. Running sterile the entire grow. Dosing with bleach every day. Is 100% gaurantee never to have rot.
I grow in a closet and hydro seemed easier than soil to me. Is it tho...hard to say. Took a couple grows but I got it down now. I'd probably say coco is the easier option. I do a flood drain in clay balls.Didn't have an issue last grow using on hydroguard no pump and water temp at 78-80. Sounds good I'll have to give it a try how much bleach do you useI grow in a closet and hydro seemed easier than soil to me. Is it tho...hard to say. Took a couple grows but I got it down now. I'd probably say coco is the easier option. I do a flood drain in clay balls.
Id go with the bleach route if you want to be 100% sure you will never have a problem.
Most likely you got some bacteria on your hand and then transfered it into the system. It happens. Happened to me. That is why I went with a sterile system.
Chopping my latest run as it matures.

I used Clorox bleach for years. Never had any rot. Well I did one time which was my first time growing hydro but after doing some research I settled on using bleach. They have been using it for decades in large scale hydroponic operations as it's cheap and effective. I'm glad I researched just basic hydroponics years ago and nothing cannabis specific or I might have been one of those using expensive products that don't always work. A $5 gallon of bleach lasts a hell of a long time and it works.I use HTC pool shock at 0.01 g per gallon. So my 10 gallon res is 0.1grams. So you need a 0.01 accuracy scale. Cheap on Amazon. I just put a little tiny amount in every day. I measured it enough to know about how much to need. You would need to put a lot in to hurt the plant. A little a day keeps the rot away.
