Okay, I am about to finish my first ever grow and I am kind of stuck on planning the next. My only real problem is space, I live in a condo and I an extra closet that I use for my flowering space. The problem really is the closed it like 8 feet wide but only 2 foot deep, so I can't get as many plants as I would like under my light. I have a 400w hps so I figure I can get like 3 or 4 plants in 3 gallon pots under there, or 6 or 8 in 1 or 1.5 gallon pots but anything more would be too crowded I think.
So what do you all recomend? 3/4 medium sized plants, or 6/8 small plants? Should I lollipop, setup a screen and train them, or just LST?
At the moment I am just grownig bag seed, and I am going to try to clone a couple branches off some plants I have now but they were also bag seed. I don't want to spend money on good seeds until I have my grow worked out. I am just trying to brain storm, any advice is appriciated but telling me to get a 1000w or like find a new space to grow in isn't going to be too helpful to me at the moment. Although I do have plenty of CFLs I can use as supplemental, I just don't want to go overboard with that. I grow in soil at the moment, I may change that in the future, but probably not until I feel more comfortable with my skills.
