I was given a jar of , obviously not washed or washed enough cannabutter. I noticed right away dark streaks in it . Apon opening the jar, I seen some white fuzz on top .most of it looks ok , but is marbled with the black streaks. I really hate to waste anything, especially any and all forms of THC. If anyone knows of a remedy to make this cannabutter usable, please let me know.

How much butter are you talking?
If it’s less than 1kg then maybe drop it into 3-4 litres of 100% Isopropyl and dissolve it.
Then filter it through some dust masks or cheesecloth.
Then slowly evaporate the alcohol back off in a slow cooker on low with a fan blowing across it outside on the back porch.

That would filter the shit out and kill the infected stuff. Then freeze it so mould can’t grow.

Yes it is less than 1kg. So add 100% rubbing alcohol. Should I dissolve it in slow cooker with isopropyl before filtering, making sure it mixes thoroughly? After giving cannabutter enough time for alcohol to evaporate and even freezing it , is there a way to test for safe consumption. I'm wondering if a sample in petre dish would satisfy my curiosity. I'll have to try this before launching it . Thanks for your help

If there’s aflatoxin in the butter, from the mold), it will not be destroyed by that amount of heat or by alcohol, aflatoxin degrades at about 250-300 degrees Celsius (500-600 degrees Fahrenheit).

I guess dissolve it in slow cooker to make it warm not hot before filtering.
I’d scrape off the very top layer with the little bit of white stuff just to help matters.
It sounds like the mould is a mild case. I’m not sure how you test for safety, but I’ve scraped the mouldy bits off butter and cheese before and I’m still kicking.
Maybe clean it up and just try ever increasing amounts if you are game.

I think get a dusk mask with activated carbon in it. Like a decent priced disposable n95 or whatever to be your filters. That’s got to help.

Then if you want maybe you could add an edible oil to your filtered and washed butter to act as an anti-fungal. Like maybe food grade cinnamon oil? Just an idea.
