Help me settle an argument?

Having an argument with my wife about the care of the girls. I’m a relative novice but with a few grows under my belt. In each grow we have had very short very dense plants in veg. We had really good success on the last grow producing good quantity of some nice bud.

My wife is of the opinion that the very think dense short plants are a bad thing. We have had this for both Indicas and Sativas. She wants the grow lights higher. My take is the lux meter is showing pretty acceptable ranges in the 28k lux range on one and about 23k on the other and I am loathe to reduce the light level to induce stretching.

So opinions on who is right? A couple pics below showing some examples. Both would be about 4 weeks from seed under hlg qb96 elite v2 boards.

One thing I’ve learned about being married is my wife is ALWAYS right even when she’s wrong. That’s my two cents.

Edit:
I guess it’s really more about personal preference. If the stretching gives you more room to work on your plant and you like that then do it her way. If you want them short and stocky and you don’t might things being a little tight then do it your way.

Thanks all. Defoliation is on the menu for sometime in the next day or two. Not a fan of mold. As a side note she is only right if everyone here says she is. Of course if she’s right this thread never happened.

It’s a friendly argument though. No immediate danger of having things severed that I might rather hold on to.

Are you running light on 24/7 or 18/6? Could be a middle ground if you run 18/6 instead of 24/7. Longer internodal length but same amount of light. Cheers!

imo, i'd prefer taller plants because i dont want to risk mold or diseases spreading easier because leaves are closer together and may create more humidity. long internodes give more versatility if you plan to train such as super cropping.

Had huge problems inducing stretch seems LED compacts the plants more than hps had lights 3 foot off the canopy in flower stretch phase and they did not move that much Plus am under low wattage as well 480 watts over 8 x 4 foot+ area.
Boy did I get slagged of for suggesting low wattage over that area Fluffy buds and alsorts. But hey am more than happy with whats coming up 30 days in on 70 day Northern Lights
