Hang a 250 mh/hps at the top connected to a 4" carbon filter and inline fan. Plants, passive vent, and circ. Fan at the bottom. Probally 4 plants in a scrog world work.

You could run dual 250s in a 2x4 area with great coverage, or one 400w but it wont spread out light to 4'.

i think 1 400 will be just fine....my boy has one inside of a 4x4 tent identical to the one i have for my LEDs, his light could of easily filled the 6x6 area but 4x4 is perfect a lot of reflection off of the walls.

I personally wouldn't use a 400 in anything bigger than a 3x3.
I always thought 250 for 2x2, 400 for 3x3, 600 for 4x4, 1000 for 5x5 as a general scale.

how much CFM should my exhaust fan (with carbon filter) have?
400w hps or 2x250 with cooltubes?a 400w hardmounted to the top of the box should cover eerything pretty good dont u think?
hmm what else? what do u think will the complete thing cost?

i ran a 2x2x4 with a 250 sog 9 plants in 1g pots for 4 cycles and got around 200g each round. recently switched to a 3.5x2x3.5 with a 400 with 15plants in 2g pots and should easily get a gram/w the way its going. i ran 2 250s in this box and it was tight and cost me more per month. the 400 should do fine if you go 2x4.

you can do whatever you want, but you want to maximize your potential...

you need to figure out how much heat you have in there and than build your ventilation....

home depot sells cheap fans, and you can buy a few of them for exhaust with passive intakes..., i explain how to hook them up in my thread here
https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/388420-building-easy-cabinet-will-last.html

or you can get those expensive "grow" fans, which you might need if you have a shit ton of heat..

you will need more than 1 125 watt cfl for your mother....clones will be ight under that. i would get multiple smaller bulbs, this will have less heat and you can place them strategically so the plant gets light ontop and on the sides...cfls dont penetrate to well as you might already know

this is a good easy cfl light... you could make one with less bulbs easily...

Here is an easy way to hook up some cfls for this cabinet... this light costs about 40.00 bucks total with bulbs...take 20 minutes to make!

1. 5.00 for sheet of metal i curved with my hands....find it in home depot
2. 12.00 for all 8 lights...26watt cfls @ 6500k for veg...home depot
3. 10.00 for light fixture from home depot.
4. 8.00 bucks for 4 y socket adapters at home depot.
5. 5.00 bucks for cheapo extension cord...light duty/everyday use is fine, you arent putting high wattage through it!

this pic shows how i connect the extension cord to the fans wires, even though the fan isnt the light it is the same connection.

chop off the female end of the extension cord, the end without prongs!
splice the wires and hook them up to the light fixture...red to red, black to black, if the light has a ground do green to green or whatever color the third cord is...twist it together with wire connectors and waalaa its grow time!
