Hello,

I live in Guam and am having a hard time finding someone who will ship a HPS system internationally. Does anyone know of a reputable supplier who ships internationally?

Guam's a smaller version of Hawaii, and farther from the continental U.S. than HI is. We have a USPS, FedEx, DHL and other shipping companies, but the problem is finding a online light supplier who will take international/non-continental US orders!

I'm tired of paying for local herb!
($300-$400 for a half oz.)
Seeing as I'm disabled and unable to work, I'd like to grow my own :)

Any assistance is very much appreciated, and +rep for all!

I am in the same situation as you are. Nobody ships where I live. I do mean nobody!

My only choice is to grow with CFL's currently. I suggest you do the same until our situation changes.

That's what I'm planning to go with, unless someone can recommend an international supplier.

From my research, and form a few recommendations I've found here on RIU, 1000bulbs.com is a good choice for CFLs, and will be the one I'm going with.

They have an awesome 12-pack of 200watt (600w incandescent equal) CFLs for $58 USD

I'm only planning on growing 4-6 plants at a time, autoflowering strains, probably AK47's from DrChronic or some Lowryder2xAK47s from the Joint Doctors/Attitude
So i'd be using about 400w per plant which seems more than enough according to my research, esp. since these strains are small, average 18"-30"

with all the time you have on your hands being disabled do some DIY lights with HPS that can be purchased locally, convert them into grow lights

i looked on guams craiglist they dont have anything so try a salvage yard for old street lights or go to a electrical supply house and have them order u if not in stock a hps outdoor light or go to the govt auction site where the auction surplus military equipment i see lots of stuff listed for guam

once u get the light we can help u with the wiring
