Help needed..this shit is sad..

whoa bro, haha i'm a little baked and that is some heavy serious stuff that i ain't got a clue about ;) TDS meter? I already flushed and it was turning that tip on the stick light yellow..so according to the chart on the bottle, that put it in the 5's. ppm parts per million? For what? Yes containers are heavy bro, but I just got through soaking the hell out of them, so I'd say the will be heavy for another day or 2. I'm using a Pur water filter..same type of water I've used for 35 days now.
 
The same thing happened to me though I think it was due to nitrogen overdose. I mixed some soil too strong and lost 4 plants out of ten.
5 strains growing, some plants were fine and showed no signs of wither.
This pix has half the room, some fine others going to hell. I transplanted these in the new soil 2 days before.

Below are 3 Ice plants. The one on the right had no problems. Not pictured are 2 Papaya plants, well, maybe the leaf in the lower left is a papya.
It seemed like ph lockout but the plants would not take water (by the looks of it).

Not sure I'm right about the nitrogen. Same transplant method last week with normal soil and all is fine this time.
 
ph in the 5's? man those plants dont look anything like mine did when my ph fell to the low 6's. my shit just stopped growing and got pale till i evened out the PH.

if you want fast action on the dolomite, crush the granules between to stones (i got slates in my yard that are perfect for that) or on some concrete. then you can stir the limestone powder into the top of the soil with your finger before you water it in.

man your shit looked dead on like an early frost hit em

Damn bro, I feel ur pain..this sht is damn near heartbreakin. I raised these babies from a seed and then to have some crazy sht like this happen, blows. So the ones in the pics, did u save them by transplanting? Got pics of ur gro now after transplanting bro? Those ones u lost, did u transplant them and then they died?

Mine are still to wet, imo, to try and transplant since i just flushed them a couple of days ago. I just got through smashing up some of that lime I have and added about 3 teaspoons per plant ( the affected ones) Just gonna watch them for a few days and hope it helps. If not, I already have extra buckets and soil ready to snatch them up and transplant.

Yea Doc, idk what the exact reading was, but it was lower than 6.

Got the lime smashed up and mixed in the top layer of soil..going to wait a day or 2 before watering again. Already a little white powdery mold on top of soil of a few plants.

Yea that air doesn't really change the room temp that much (while light is on..i take it out when light is off ) and is about 5-5 1/2 feet above the tops of plants..and it has to go through the heat from the light etc before it gets to my plants. Also, the oscillating fan helps by blowing the air around. Like I said, plant issues were like this before the air was introduced to the top of the tent. Good looking out though Doc..that is one for the check list to NOT do..blast ac air directly on plants.

I did what you did and flush them. Took each one to the bath tub and ran a lot of water through each pot then friggin mold on top the soil.

Lost these 4. I left them on the floor about a week and they just got worse.

Damn! One of my 1st grows a long time ago was close to looking like that...Damn !
Was able to save 2 out of 4.

May I suggest to you next time use FFOF soil and Fabric pots.
It has been a winning combo for me.

I would re-pot them and start over in your case. It's just wierd because they were fine.

I use tap water that's run through a filter then let it sit a day or two. I ph'd and ppm'd it and the levels looked fine then add nutes and bottom feed the girls.

I'd love to have some fox soil but they don't sell it around here. My best bet is African violet soil from the home depot. I add some perlite and mix it with some local compost soil. I'd like to go organic but can't find worm castings or other soil amendments.
 
Maybe your just worrying to much about your babies and trust me i get it, but these plants are strong plant and they can surprise you they don't need to be babied at all........just do the basics, keep warm, water, light, its that easy

white powdery mold on top of the dirt? dirt molds are usually matted and furry, not powdery. was it crusty and just on the peaks of your soil? like little snowcaps on the high spots? if thats what it is, then thats salt accretion. salt is bad beans. if your soil is super salty that could totally fuck up your PH, and wither your foliage like that!

throw down a pic of this mould on your soil!

Hey Ringsixty, what are fabric pots? I'm using FFOF just in plastic buckets.

lol jswett1100..tell that logic to nutes 4 plants that died on him or ringsixty's 2 plants they lost. Hell, if it's all easy breezy..why not just throw em on concrete and let em grow in the cracks?

C'mon man, that's ur input..'just set em and forget em' type cht? May work for the farmer who doesn't care if he looses any or all of his plants, but..I do man.

Doc, I'll post pics when I get home man. I may not have described the mold 'correctly'..I'll take a few shots and we'll go from there.
 
I ran a WW last year and it got severe burn just like yours. Mine was most def too much FF nutes. I couldn't get above 1/3 dose or they would burn like a mofo. WW is a pussy when she comes to taking her vitamins.
