Help on building LED light for 2x2 tent

I dont see any point in trying to pack 36 plants into a 2x2 tent unless they were about 2 inches tall when they were flipped, The current plants in the room were flipped at 6 inches and they are over 18 inches tall now, they were kinda slow to respond to the 12 /12 flip as I'm not using a flower initiator this time around.
He said it was a test run to validate the process - they were 12/12 from seed in 4" rockwool cubes packed together in an ebb and flow setup. He said they got 18 inches or so with one big cola. Been thinking of trying something similar but the seed cost would kill me. I might look into making some feminized seeds of my own from my Plushberry clones I've been growing this year.

Just pre-ordered a 135W QB kit. Now i just have to wait. My only question is what is the recommended height for the QB from the plants?

Depends on a lot of things. The size of your canopy, what wattage you're running the board, age of your plants, etc. Good rule of thumb seems to be to start high, say 24", at less than full power, and adjust as needed. At least that's what I've picked up from reading the threads here; but I'm admittedly a noob, so a more knowledgeable LED grower may step in and correct me.

tent size is 4ft tall. I got a mars hydro 300 (145w at wall i think) and it is at about 20" from the plant. might drop it down to 18" since it is flowering already to see how she reacts. Hopefully get the board next week so i can replace the light and finish flowering. I guess ill start it at 20" and see how it goes.

Just be aware that plants don't always react well to a change of lights mid stream. It's better to start higher and with less power than you think, and step up from there if they tolerate it well.

Or better yet, just finish out this run with your old light and start fresh with the new. Hard to do, I admit.

yeah i really wanted to see what these lights can do. But ill TRY and run it thru with the mars lol well i only have one plant under the light so maybe the mars can do a good enough job in flowering.

fwiw, I changed my lights out mid grow as well... I couldn't wait. ;)

It probably cost me an extra 2 weeks.... but it was worth it.
