First post here but I've been a member/reader for about 1 year.

Props to all that have helped Newbie's like me!

Question: I've used Sensizyme before and understand the benefits from it, but I'm staying away from it at this time and just want to keep my 10 gallon Rez Clear and Clean. I purchase a H2o2 product called 'Oxy Blast" online from Bghydro because I couldn't find AN's Oxhy. Here's my confusion...The instruction call for 5ml per 10 gallons!! This stuff is only 10% Hydrogen peroxide. I called the store and it's their store product, so they swear it's all you need. But from what I've read and search here thats seem like a worthless dosage.

I appreciate any thoughs.

Thanks

Looks like there going for 30ppm's of h202 for your res's at that rate---1 teaspoon or 5ml/10gal-----I use 1.7ml/liter of 35% for clones so ya that does sound low to me as well-i'm not the expert but if you go to AL.B fuct's faq thread and shoot him the question, im sure he will be able to help you out. good luck...

References I can find indicate 30-500ppm as efficacious dosages for H2O2 in hydroponics. Broad as a barn but terrestrial plants are very tolerant of the stuff. I have yet to either damage or even hear of someone else damaging a cannabis plant with an overdose of H2O2.

I use 50% grade @ 1ml/L which yields 500ppm. If using 10%, the equivalent rate would be 5ml/L.

Thanks Dr. and Al B.!! I'll up the dosage to the equivalent of 500ppm (5ml/L) and hope for the best...I'm trying to fight off root rot..it may be a lost cause at this point, but fortunately I have 12 clones I placed into Veg 5 days ago.

I'll post back any noticeable differences with the increased dosage of H2o2. Meanwhile, I'll continue my search for some REAL 35% or 50% H2o2. I only picked up this "Oxy Blast" crap because the instruction claimed 5Ml for 10 Gals. I thought the stuff was over 90%...and the ingredients weren't stated.

Thanks again for the help...I never expected the "best" of the best to respond!!!

Thanks for the compliments. :)

Good to hear you have a source for new clones.

Root problems are very commonly caused by overwatering. Don't know what your media, watering system nor watering sked are, but if you are watering often enough to displace all O2 from the medium, root probs will follow.

The 10% H2O2 will work in sufficient quantity, but low concentration H2O2 as such can be uneconomical or impractical to use due to the amts required.

Good luck, do keep us updated. :)

Al B....I wanted to let you know that I now have my Root rot issues under control. I did increase my H2o2 dosage to equal 500 ppm (5ml/L using 10% H2o2) and my rez is now clean and clear. I actually have new WHITE roots growing out of the medium and the brown roots aren't so brown anymore. I kept the dosage high for the first few days, then scaled it back about 50%. I wasn't sure what the daily - or 2-3 times a week - dosage should be.

My problem was indeed created by my over watering. But the solution and cure was your recommendation and dosage of H2o2...Thanks again for the help!!!
