Hey y’all,

Currently mid week 9 flower of my first grow. The last 2 weeks I’ve noticed small but noticeable mildew spots on fan leaves. They have progressively showed up more and more as these last 2 weeks have gone by. I started flushing on Saturday this past weekend. I am in a coco/perlite medium and do not know if I should continue the week and risk more mildew spots and run through a few days of dark like many do. Or if I should cut her down now and start the process early. My buds hve trichomes that are majority milky, I’d even go and say that maybe 5% of the trichs are amber. I’d take pictures but I’ve been meticulously pruning off the infected leaves. I fear that I will not have anymore sugars or fans left if I let it go through to week 10. Any advice for your neighborhood noob?

remove as much as possible, something is triggering it, what are your light out rh and temps big swings and humidity at night could be the culprit, if you fix that you might skate to the end

My temps are pretty consistent I’d say lowest they’ve gotten is 62 but that’s on a really cold day (my basement is my grow room). My humidity is good lights on under 45 consistently, when lights are off sometimes the humidity will hit 55-58 MAX

I'm in the basement too and I have to run a small electric heater during lights out and its nice because it keeps the RH in check

I actually placed my tent next to our furnace / boiler to keep it warmer in my tent. I know for a fact that the two floods we had in our basement caused the outbreak. Both times we got 2+ inches of water which caused the humidity lights off to skyrocket to +80%

Lol I'll take your advice on that I might need some drying and harvesting tips though
slow and low, I hang dry in cardboard boxes for 9-12 days before ready to jar and burp
stay below the 7s
70 temp 70 rh

ideal dry rh is 62-65 before jarring

Best I could do for now is 65/55 temp/rh everything I read online either says 60 or 50rh is where you should aim for

I apologize for not seeing this before. But... I had a mildew issue as well at about mid flower. I was told by a friend to mix milk and water together at 60% water and 40% milk and mist from top to bottom. I used 1% milk and sprayed everything. Left it for ten days and rinsed with water. I never saw the mildew again. N I did do some research and found it was a new method being used in the farming industry.

Make sure you burn your carbon filters and tent....

But seriously if you dont do that then use physan and get everything soaked for at least 30 min and wash your pre- filters. Sulphur burn maybe to be safe. I would kill anything in veg you have, PM is systemic- and if you went into your bloom room and then veg, your veg plants now likely have it. Invest in a good dehum- one that is designed for growing- esp being in a basement. A quest 70 or 105 should do the trick.

I bring my night hum down to 40 during lights out the last two weeks.

And airflow, even during lights off.

As far as drying- I would normally say low and slow, but since you are dealing with pm and potentially moldy bud that might not be the best idea.

I had a friend suggest that as well and I also considered doing an h202 wash (peroxide wash) bud was concerned about the trichomes and terpenoids. How did yours taste/smell after the wash?
