Help with 600 watt tent

I wonder if this guy ever figured out his set up? Lol. The proper way is to OPEN the vents at the bottom and run the ducting from the filter>>duct>>hood/cooling tube>>duct>>inline fan>>duct>>outlet(attic/window, ect.). I run a 1000w this way and my temps stay in the 70's. If your room temp is 70f theres no reason the tent should be any higher than 80f on a hot day. I can put my 1000w light within 8" of my plants without burn! Just because someone works at a hydro store doesnt mean shit. I know more than any of the fuckers at my local hydro stores! The want $195 for an air scrubber I got for $65 on Amazon, an Australian 1050+ 400 cfm 6" x 16" at that!

Why you making false staments solely based on your experience?

Actually the "right" way would to have it:

Filter>Inline fan> duct> air cooled hood>duck >exiting outside tent

Blowing the air over the bulb will prolong the fans life and cool it a bit more effectively.

Of course so many other variables play a factor here

Many, many, many people including myself know that these fans work better when being set up to pull air instead of push. Plus a filter, a huge fan, a light, and ducting weighs too much for being hung inside most tents. Not everyone can afford $700 gorilla tents. Hanging in mine is a light, filter, and a litlle ducting. I would much rather prolong the life of my tent than my fan. Tent is more expensive. I was also basing the set up on the way they were drawn in the pictures above. Both people had the fan pulling and for good reason. I could care less what hydro stores say. My hydro store people dont know shit. Fan pulling works better, pulls more air, and is less wear on the tents structure. Fan $60-$90, tent $100-$700 or more. Common sense.

Yep, I'm seeing a stinky tent in the future. Your way is cooling the bulb with 70* air - and you're right! Major_Duke's way is cooling the bulb with 75ish* air - but you're wrong! Trousers ,right, you're losing cfm's as soon as you hook up the filter, eventually you will be only cooling the light and a stagnant tent! It's tried & true.

Stinky tent, hogwash! Lol. Im exchanging air 3 times per min or more. My humidity and climate both are controlled. 40% humies durring flower, 72.5f. Take that National Aeronautic and Space Administration! If my grow had wings it would fly. I feel like im producing human clones for the Government. Lol. If my tent is rancid or stinky I will be the first to admit im wrong. In my defence, ive never been wrong before. Well maybe once but that was long ago. Before developing my 3rd eye.

I notice you resurrected a thread from 2012, to brag about what a perfect environment you've created. You are right, now I'm hoping to see pics! Why so defensive?

Im not defensive, im just messin around. My phone wont upload pictures for some stupid reason. Sometimes it will, most of the time it wont.

The reason people push air through an air cooled hood is because the hood only has to have a slight air leak so that pulling air through would pull some smell through. Path of least resistance and all. That and the fact your fan would prefer cooler air to hot air. Either way each to his own. I use cool tubes and they are well sealed but I still push air through because my fan costs way more than my tent and it can push as easy as pull. My tents been holding up my 8" isomax silenced fan, oversized filter which weighs a fair bit, 3 cool tubes, reflectors, a 6 inch ruck fan and a 5 inch ruck fan as well as a few meters of ducting. Its held no problem for years. And that tent was fairly cheap. A structure can either hold the weight or I cant. If its going to fail it will do very quickly.
I live in a place where not extracting stinky air or having my fan fail is very very important. Which is why I paid $300 for my fan and $180 for my rhino filter.
