Help with cfl's please

i was hoping to start a grow using cfl's for veg and flower for about two plants could someone please leave me some feed back on what kind i should get like the watts and type or what not and how many, and whats best for veg and flowering, feed back is much appreciated.

i also read that using cfl's does not affect the electric bill is this true?
 
Go to Home Depot, Walmart, Lowes, Target, ect. If you want to grow two plants, two cfls per plant should do the job. People will say you need more cfls but that depends on the size of your plant. Settle for nothing less than 26w per cfl. The spectrums above 3500k are usually for vegging and anything lower if for flowering. Try to get something in between so you wont need to switch bulbs. Seems like you need to learn alot. READ READ READ the forums...you will find your answers there.
 
it depends on the space you are working with. generally you want around 3000 lumens per sq foot. i believe a 42w cfl gives off around 2500, you can find bigger ones such as the floodlights i am using that are 65w and around 5000 lumens. if you plan on flowering with cfls also you will want more than this, and would be best to get a few bulbs from each end of the color spectrum. and yes cfls are very inexpensive to run...
 
No it's not just the bulb, I've read on other threads of people ordering it and it's the whole thing, fixture ballast and lamp. Here is the description below saying the ballast is included,

Vapor Tight Fixture, Ceiling Mount 150-watt HPS lamp. 120/277-volt HX ballast (NPF). Lamp included.

For $25 there is no reason not to get a HPS.
 
I have one of their floodlights and it is pretty decent quality.

The thing is they are selling straight out of China, so I think the stuff is cheap because you are buying before it gets to a retailer.
 
You think that's bad, awhile back the prices were about the same for the fixtures and shipping was free. The floodlight I got probably weighs 30 pounds.
