Okay so this is my first post.. which is probably because im just setting my system up;-). My question is this... i want to pull air from my 600w HPS and into my drying box and finally through my carbon filter, that way i'll cover all my bases as far as smell goes without having to buy another carbon filter. Do guys think that the hot air from the light will be too much for my drying buds? if so any other suggestions as to what i can do? i live in a pretty packed subdivison with nosey neighbors and smell is def. a concern. A speedy reply will earn +rep because my equipment arrives tomorrow and i want to be ready Thanks!:blsmoke:

Perhaps a smaller passive intake than what is running into the drying box. That way you're getting room temp air sucked in to help equalize the temps. Just make sure your fan is pulling enough air to take care of that big of a circuit.

No the 600 wont produce too much heat if your drying room is as large as your grow room, I had a similar desinged system years ago. three rooms side by side. Veg-->Drying Room---> Flowering room
Ipassive inatke was in the veg room, drying room had light baffles running vertically up the room with the inlet at the bottom and its exhaust at the top. The fan drew air from the carbon filter through the light cooled hood which drew air from the flower room creating the negative pressure, It exhausted out of the tent. Worked great!

Yeah id go the passive intake too, ambient temps are much better for drying your buds, heat comming straight from a bulb will bring alot of heat. Id also make the exhaust from the drying box alot smaller than the lights, to avoid the fan from sucking air from the wrong place, air takes the path of least resistance

Im with the passive intake...cause u mention drying box not room, though great idea bro. I won't take the chance of messing up the drying & cure. After all that work of growing beautiful buds. But thats just my opinion. Like i said great idea! Peace & Happy Growing!

I'd also invest in some of those ozone sprayers. They Auto sprayer u can program to mist out every 10,15,30 min. They help cover up the left over smells. I had some of my crazy friends bring home dead skunks(road kill) & throw them in their yards! LOL

Okay so im running a 6" vent through my 600w HPS into the dry box then out through the CF, and making a idk 2" passive intake for the dry box... 6" passive for flowering room... and i guess i'll make it to where i can close off the 2" when i don't have anything drying that way i don't lose any negative pressure in the flowering room... just rambling now hope you guys can make sense of that... thx for the awesome advice +rep as promised
