Hey guys

just wanted some advice bout growing. im getting 30 seeds off a friend of mine dont know wat strain or type and i want to start off by growing 1 tree to get the hang of it and learn the ropes.

this is wat i plan on doing im taking 3 or 4 seeds from the bunch germinating them in a damp paper towl in 2 plates.

going to buy some soil ( just any general soil for growing nothing too specific) and get my self a 7Lt - 10Lt pot and im not planning to take the plant out of that pot because the place outside that im going to place it is mostly hard clay soil and i dont think the plant would do well in there .

all i want is to grow the plant outside in the sun and water in once a day depending on how wet or dry the soil gets. im not aiming for some killer bud i just want to grow to the flowering point and decide from there if i want to start growing 2 or 3 plants for personal use.

so guys is there advice or suggestions u can give me and i wanted to know if i would be able to get a plant to flower in that size pot ? and if its ok to start at this time of season right now its half way through summer
Australias seasons :
Summer - December , January, February
Autumn - March , April , May
Winter - June , July , August
Spring - September , October , November
Thanx in advance for ur posts and help =)

You might wanna try growin a couple because it doesn't sound like your seeds are femenized and babying one marijuana just to find out that it's a male and will never produce buds for you is a big let down.. By the way, you can get a plant to flower in any sized pot it's just a matter of how good the buds will be because the more room the roots have to cover a wider range of nutrients, the more nutrients will be utilized by the plant. For an outdoor plant you are probably in the right ballpark thinking about the 10L.

Yes you can do that but you can't determine sex untill you start flowering. If you switch to 12/12 and start flowering indoors and then put it back outdoors when the days are still long it will force your plant back into vegetive and stress the plant. To solve your height issues, just read some of the topping threads or low stress train it. You would prolly be able to grow a couple decent plants in the space you're referring to as limited and you don't even realize the potential! Another trick to getting them to bush is to keep the light as close as possible without seeing signs of heat stress.

yeah but the thing is i dont want to use lights at all i want to keep it as basic as possible just pot , soil , sunlight , water , and maybe a little fertilizer only if te plant need its. so i was thinking for the babies ill put them in little pots until they flower then pick the best.

lol unless i can use my regular house light for 1 plant then i dont intend on going out and buying lights then setting up a room in the house so yeah strictly outside with sunlight

If you want short stocky plants make sure after the germinating phase and you start to plant them keep the lights as closse as possible without stressing them so they wont strech

Judging by this, for a strictly outdoor grow, you should have planted in October or November. Then again, if it's just a non-serious outdoor trial, still not too late. I'm not in Oz, but you may want to check this out for help.:eyesmoke:
