Help With Hortilux Super HPS Bulb

So they say that these Hortilux Super HPS Bulbs have a wider color spectrum, making them better for growing plants. I am thinking about getting one however I have 2 questions?

1. Do they still produce the same amount of red light as a normal HPS bulb, while still producing violet, blue, and other colors?

2. And if they do (referring to question 1), would this be preferred for S.O.G seeing as the plants don't get much vegetative growth before entering flowering.

It would be cool if my understanding of these bulbs are correct, because that extra blue light sure would help the clones in the first couple weeks of flowering. I don't see how it could harm during late flowering as well.

However if they do not produce the same amount of red light I don't think I wan't it.

Have read good things about CMH as well.

I was just gonna say that, lol, cmh has both spectrums too and is made for hps ballasts, heres the part that won me over....they make alot less heat than traditional hps bulbs do.

And I also understand that for CMH it has to be a magnetic HPS ballast - which I have.

their are like 1 or 2 digital ballast specifically made to be able to use cmh, but other than those ones digitals wont work w/them. You are correct.

How is CMH better? It has a color temp of 3k while Hortilux HPS has 2k. The CMH has 41k lumens while the Hortilux HPS has 55K. Plus the Hortilux bulb lasts longer. I am looking for a good light for flowering. I will get a small MH for Veg.

the super hps is a good bulb, a little more blue and they are brighter than most bulbs. i run the 600s and they are 88,000 lumens. the only one thats brighter is the digilux hps, i have one of those and they ARE brighter-95,000 lumens.
