Ive been hovering over this site for a while and this is first thread.Im growing CH9 super haze from seed(3rd grow,2 plants)but 1st with CFLs.I vegged for 28 days under a Maxibrite 250w and 2x65w blue end CFLs in a 80x80x 240 tent, using M/G potting mix with about 20% crushed polystyrine(good/bad?)no nutes thru vegging as i think medium has enough.Switched to 12/12 14 days ago under a Maxibrite 250w and 6x20w red end CFLs(all actual wattage) and was able to spot pistills yesterday, way longer than previous HPS grows(is this normall?)Got the bulbs as close as possible. There not in the pics but i have the 6 smaller bulbs lighting the sides of the plants from all angles. They really have been at the most 4" from the plants yet they still have(i think)become really lanky. Please help,be as harsh or as nice as you want.Thank you.

take a 20 watt or 23 watt bulb and put it between the plants near the bottom and it should stop any stretching. you can also try moving those 20 watt bulbs a little closer about 2 and a half or 3 inches and keep the higher wattage bulbs where they are. when i had my cfl grow i had the big bulb up top and cfls slid into place where there were gaps in the plants where i can get it really close.

Your HPS is going to pack your buds big time no worries :)

You did say you had CFL's on those lower leaves right? They're just not on your pics here?

If so, you're fine. Grow away!

I do try to keep them real close, but its a constant battle with light hight.they grow about 3 to 4" a day from all angles.Im starting to think this CFL stuff is more trouble than its worth,if i was at home all day it wouldnt be a problem, but alot can happen in 8hrs
