Help with setup?

Greetings everyone...doing a new setup and would really appreciate some input. I have 2 rooms, a flowering room with a 400w hps, and another room with a 150w hps.i wanted to grow out a pack of 6 females and select a mom from the bunch and put it in a clone/veg room. The question i have is what kind of light setup should i use to keep a mom and clones alive long enough till they go into 12/12 room? I live close to walmart and home depot so if i should get any type of like shop flouros or cfl's it wouldnt be a problem. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance

006.jpghey bro, i have clones unde005.jpgr an 8 bulb T-5, and my mothers under the same. they make different T-5s with less bulbs all that good stuff. just my thaughts. hope this helps.004.jpg

So I dont even need the 150 hps to keep a mother alive? How long can you keep clones alive under those flouros? Long enough til they go into flower? Thanks a lot

well ive vegged for 6 weeks before under those. they get around 30 inches. in my opinion pot size matters when vegging longer. i use a 6x6 pot so they dont get root bound so fast. but they will if not carefull

i use the same type of light. i try to get about 11 cutting a month from my moms. moms in my opinion is the hardest part of growing. always deleafing paying close attention to them is the key. i always water with tea after i make cuttings and then the net watering i water with a sea kelp in the mix.

I wanted to keep a single mother alive under some cfl's maybe...use the 150w hps for veg and once they are in veg for around 3-4 weeks put them under 12/12 and the 400w...the cloning method was either rapid rooter plugs, jiffy pucks, or rockwool. I havent decided. I have been growing for many years and really got tired of the wait inbetween harvests, having to start from seed. So i did my research on cloning and feel confident enough to be able to do it. I have all the room needed in my basement, divided into several smaller rooms already. Thanks for all the help mongo frog, any other input would be great. Your pics look great btw, How long have those cuttings been under the flouros? Do you use smaller pots in veg room then transplant to bigger pots in flower?

are the rapid rooter plugs a spongy rubber type thing? i bought a clone that came in a rubbery thing and its doing real good. i havent had much luck with the juffy pucks for cloning but the rockwool works good for me.

cuttings been under flouros for 2 weeks. and ya veg in 6x6 pots then transplant to either 3 gallon pots or 10 gallon pots. i do a soilless mix for all my girls except for the moms i star them in soilless then put them into a more heavey soil to save a little money on nutes.

Hey is that a 4x4 tray? If so, how many of those square pots can you fit inside the tray. Im asking because ima be running a SoG and im going to fill up the tray with those same square pots.
oh and Bpeezy you can put ur mom under t-5 lights. they grow well under them. Use MH if you need ur Moms to recover faster after taking cuttings.

no its a 4x7 foot table. i think i can get like 165 in those pots on there. i just use those tables for my babies. just veg them on there.

Gracias i like these shop style lights..they cover so much area and for young cuts its perfect. I dont have a steady isp so i rarely come online. Luckily i live by an indoor gardening store and have become a regular there. When i first started i asked the guy working what was best for a small type grow and i left with a 400w hps...loved the results and never looked into anything else. I even bought a 150w hps but i dont think i will find a use for it now that i found out about flourescents. Do you think shop lights 2 32w cool white tubes would be enough for 2 mom plants?
