Help with soil please!!?? (Indoor grow)

Hey everyone! Names growtosleep (pun intended) haha.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with a soil choice for an indoor grow!? I live in Australia unfortunately our soil choices are restricted

I've previously grown outdoor (one plant) I got rid of it before it went into flower it was about 3 year ago so I can't remember the soil I used.

I Currently have osmocote premium potting mix:

Im not sure if the seedlings will survive or if the fert might kill it.

If that wasn't any good I was thinking of going for a vegetable and herb soil.


I currently have 4 seeds germinating, which should be ready to plant tomorrow so a quick reply would be amazing!

If the soil is no good and I have to get a new one, I'll be able to; although in Australia they don't sell fox farm.

looking nice... if your going indoors with chemical regimens look for something like promix.. or even a coco coir. do you have a local garden store?

Thank you Phil! I was hoping for less chemicals if possible. Also is it possible that what's added to the soil would be enough to feed the plant? Or would I eventually have to add neuts or can I go with amendments??

I believe there's a local hydroponics store near me. I'm not too sure what their range is, I haven't been there before.

P.s I have some vermiculite too.

you can amend the soil properly... that can depend though i mean normally you wanna know the chemistry of the soil your planting into so theres two ways to go about it.. one get a pot and just do your own soil outdoors in the pot itself... if you want to use the ground soil.. you can get a sample from the area and your local university or even municipality generally tests soil .. universities charge like 20-30$ to test ... but you can even go to a simple NPK PH soil test kit to get a descent idea of the levels and then you know what your going to do... some soils especially in like pine forests become really acidic from the needles and such falling so you wanna make sure if your using the ground soil its good fertile soil.

Okay, fortunately I have a pH test kit. If the soil I has came up with a pH of 6-7 would that be ideal for the plant? Or would the fert in the soil kill the seedling? Or would it be better to get soil for outdoors?
