I got a tour of Illinois first and only so far hemp research farm today.
It was surprisingly small. 3 rooms the biggest of which was maybe 6x12. Only the second year they have been able to grow anything. They are building a greenhouse and are expanding. Doing 17 acres outside this year. They are modifying existing farm equipment to do all sorts of shit. It was pretty interesting.
You or I would say they need way more light and they harvest after it's shown flower for 2 weeks. Just trying to avoid thc spikes.
They said they have a strain that has been purposefully bred to hermie...
They can only do cbd production at this stage. This is the first year anyone else can apply for a license to grow it. Laws aren't clear yet either. All going down in the next few weeks.
