Hemp Tycoon on adultswim.com

Haven't played 'Hemp Tycoon' yet, but enjoyed the opening game credits (there's an annoying ad you have to sit through for 10 seconds) :

No secret who Adult Swim's demographic is, but still enjoy seeing examples of marijuana's mass appeal, most especially on mainstream media like The Cartoon Network.

It's a positive sign when you start to see 'in almost every home in America' cable networks like The Cartoon Network being used as a vehicle to deliver a game about marijuana, er, hemp.

Anyway, I'm baked on Sour Diesel and this game resonated with me probably because of it...

I like the crunchy opening-menu theme music.

Thanks Smurf, the SD is really nice for me tonight for some reason too.

It's a simple game, but something perfect for people getting stoned, on any substance. The more money and experience you gain, the better grade seeds you can buy, the more plots you can plow for more planting, etc. So you start out with a couple hundred bucks and two grow locations, an attic and a 4-plot outdoor spot.

You can only afford to buy the lower grade seeds initially, but these strains grow really fast (30 seconds, 5 mins max) to grow a crop and then its ready for harvest. You usually have an hour or so to harvest your plants, as an icon pops up when they're ready. If you don't get them in the allotted time, they rot and you lose them.

Once you get enough money and experience, you can choose better strains. These can take several hours or more to grow out and finish.

But there are some really high level strains that grow in 20 mins, 40 minutes, etc. You wanna grow these, because they're worth a lotta experience points.

The final two strains you can grow take 2 whole days of computer time to finish to harvest (not at once, you can save your progress unless you're really trippin on some Lucy/boomer/peyote buttons/etc and have the time to burn).



Also, sorry in advance about the lunacy of describing this game...I'm high and it's relevant to me right now...hehe.
