Hey, I'm about two weeks into my first grow (WW) and going to LST using hooks and string to try and create a bush. my question is that do I judge when to start this more by the amount of nodes or just height. I'm doin a cfl grow so my plants are short and bulky, lets say about 2-3 inches with 3-4 nodes already, just over 2 weeks old. Now, from what i've read i've got enough nodes to start tying down, but because theyr're so short and a little dainty they just don't look like bending them over is the best option. what are your thoughts?

Im sure the question has been asked, but are clones from reputable source going to be female for sure, or do i still have to wait into flowering to know?

I started growing a plant and so far it looks great, it's my first time so I jus tplanted it in a pot with some soil to see fi it would grow, but now it's starting to get serious and it looks very well but at the tip of the bottom leaves, its starting to turn a bit yellowish brown and it looks like its drying at the discolored parts. I planted another seed at the same time and it grew a lot slower even though it was the first seed to sprout after germination and then the discoloration spread through the bottom leaves a lot quicker. Can you tell me what's wrong or how to fix it?

Hi I am beginning grower and just have one plant (bagseed) growing in my closet. 2 40 watt fluorescent tubes and 2 100 watt cfls. I use liquid karma for nutes. My plant is now 5 weeks old and is only about 2 inches tall. The stems are red and the lower leaves are starting to turn yellow. I do not know ph of water or soil. I just transplanted into a bigger container however this problem was happening before i transplanted.

Hi, I have a plant I started from some bagseed and its been growing a couple months just fine under my 400 watt mh light until now.. I put it in flower about 4 days ago and all of a sudden lower leaves are turning yellow and just falling off. What could this be from? It is in miracle gro & perlite and I have been feeding it Flora Nova Gro up until I started flowering.. its in my garage witch gets some decent air flo and I have a little fan on them during the hotter hours of the day to cool off and strengthen the plants. I let my tap water sit at least 24 hours before use (okay maybe I didn't do it a time or two). I have burned a previous plant with nutes and it don't look like that to me.. is it lacking something? Or could my pot be gettin to small? Am I over feeding it possibly? I put a table spoon of flora nova into a two liter bottle, mix it with water, and water each of my 4 plants with that one serving of it.. everyother time I water wich is every couple to few days. Sorry first timer here on rollitup. Not sure what iv left out, I know you'll be asking me to post pix next and I will asap. I'm using my phone right now and its not capapble of doing that so as soon as I'm near my comp. I'll post em. Thanx!!!!! Hope you can help my girls:) they need it!

Whats goin on man, thanks for the help...Through long research iv decided to try and grow some trees in my home...but i have some concerns. The only available space i have is a cabinet, thats part of a computer desk. Its 1 foot and 2 inches wide, from left to right. From top to bottom, its 1 foot and 22 inches, almost 2 feet. and it goes in about 2 feet deep, from front to back. iv read that a 2X2 setting will be good for a newbie, but as you can see my measurements are a little off. Anyway, iv already orderd seeds (aurora indica). Iv read there small, stout plants, so i thought id go with those. And i can get a 175 watt, or 250 watt metal-halide bulb real soon (im not sure how much wattage i should use?). With regards to soil, Im getting Fox farm soil. I Also have some mini fans to circulate air in, and out. Do you know if this setup would work..im planning on just trying to grow one plant, maybe 2. Iv read grow articles and think im ready, just dont know if my space would be enuff to accomplish my goals. My setup is similar to this picture a fellow Rollitup member shared with me...Let me know if this setup would work, Thanks!!

Those are your fan leaves, when your plants start to flower those leaves will turn yellow and fall off, and new flower leaves will form, so don't worry about it cause most of them will fall off when the flowers start drawing the nutrients away from the fan leaves, you are all good, just don't over feed your plants, and if i were you i would go ahead and give them a good flush. You could have possible stunted their growth by giving them nutes to early. Which is more than likely the case we have here, if i were you i would flush your container with neutral pH water. So get some water out of your tap and let it sit out for atleast 24 hours to let all the chlorine evaporate out of the water and then thoroughly flush the container to get the salt blockage out of there. and water with regular water for about a week and then start back on a low dose feeding. Like 1/4 strength.

Start you up a thread and title it South Africa Unite, or something along those lines, and see if anyone on here is from around your area. Whos knows you might get lucky and find some people that are around you. I did and wasn't even looking. Pretty crazy, anyways good luck man. Droski

Hey there. I was searching the forum for a how-to on topping. Is it necessary? I found some good threads but there were pictures missing from them that I'm sure would make them a lot more clear. If you can point me in the right direction or give me a hand with it that would be great. I'm not at the point where I need to do it but I would like to be ready when it comes time. Thanks!

After your plant grows about or 5 nodes, top it right after the split just cut it off and the two side brances right there will start growing up as the main cola, so instead of 1 cola there will be two colas, but this can cause stress on the plant and cause it to tern hermy.
