Here we go! - open for comment

Its been a while. Got some new gear along the way. I've continued to start various seeds indoors for my garden. Lots actually, veggies, herbs, trees, EVERY YEAR I manage to pump out probably 100 plants. Its been about a decade though for the great green one. So here we go!

MARS HYDRO TS 3000 LED
Gorilla grow tent 4x4
Fabric pots
FF HP and OF soil mix with perlite
Hulkberry Plus from Captain Red Beard

Have a UK Cheese auto that's going outside in a few days.

Had some seed germ issues, I think do to bad seed. I should have replacements in the mail. All are feminized.
Plan was for 4 Plants in the tent. I'm not sure if I will clone or try and play catch up with with the new seeds..

Seed started 6/17.
Sprouted 6/25.

I'm keeping this journal to help me remember and log the fun. Not much to see ATM.

A quick chart of the TEMP and HUMIDITY of the tent over the week. There is a major change in temp about half way through, This is when I installed my tent fan. I am using the ac infinity t6 set at about mid power.

Some of my take away;

• The humidity increases at night with a baseline at about 50. Night increases to mid 60s.
• With the fan, temp in the tent is holding steady at about 74 as the fan seems to cycle plenty of air. I will dial the fan back a tad and see what happens. For me (now), the biggest control point with the fan is air flow. At this setting, I have plenty of air flow.

I would expect the humidity to remain about the same all year as I have a dehumidifier in the room, it is possible the humidity would drop during heating season but I doubt by much given the addition of the grow.

Temps will hold steady for the most part, perhaps a 5 to 10 degree change (plus or minus) max throughout the year in the area. Thats something I will need to watch for- though if it does change it will be very gradual and I will be able to stay on top of it.

Weather is calling for a few cloudy and somewhat mild, less than 90 degree, days. So I put the auto outside. Should be an easy transition for her.

Cloning is out of the question bro. I’m sure you can get it to root. But it will continue to flower out the whole time. Autos are a from seed only kinda gig. At least that’s my understanding, I don’t run them, but I have a couple friends who are. They're answer was “it just doesn’t work out.”

Hopefully I didn't miss type or confuse the journal already. Its bound to happen sometime .

The UK CHEESE is the AUTO and just went outside and I don't intend to clone that girl. Just let her do her thing.

I DO need to come up with a solution to fact that I'm running a light filling a 4x4 and only have ONE plant in the tent. That's the pictured Hulkberry Plus. I did just find an opportunity to pick up a clone or two of something else from a friend but I'm unsure of the plant size.

So my options would be:

• Get a clone from a friend - that would only give me 2 plants.
• Clone the one in the tent - that will delay my harvest a good bit
• Get a clone from a friend and clone both mine and his.
• try to grow out the replacement seeds that hopefully are in the mail. - I do suspect it could be the high temps that killed the seed in the mail though?.
• Train this one plant all around the tent.

Any input on those options or others would be great.

My bad. Didn’t realize u were talking about more than the one strain.

Get the stuff from a friend and do yours too if your looking to have a larger harvest. Spread the one you have out so it can get light in the center… take small clones in 2 weeks.

Throw the one you got in a big ass pot and fill the tent with it

Settled the dilemma. I would be silly to pass on my friends offer for free plants of high quality. This will add diversity to my harvest.

After carefully checking over the gifted plants for bugs, etc, I let them sit in the corner of the tent for a night to see how they would respond to the light. I also turned my light down to 80%. In the morning they were looking great. So I topped them for clones and spread the side branches out a bit. And placed them in there final 10 gallon pots. I think they had some stress from his light as some of the leaves were burned. Shouldn't be a nute issue as these are fresh'ish clones grown in happy frog with no nutes as of yet. I trimmed most of those leaves, to allow light to the spread branches.

24 hours later the clones are looking very happy. I placed them in Happy frog, perlite and a seed starting mix. Heat mat is set to 77. I need to block the light from the roots yet. I am keeping a shade cloth over the top for a few days to help limit stress.

Found some heavy fence staples near by and that made perfect weight.

The original plant is growing well. I think she might have been to close to the light, some of the leaves were curling upwards a bit. There is zero stretching going on and I may leave the light at 80 % for a while to see if that fixes the issue.


These pictures were 24 hours ago and the plants looked much better this morning. I tended to the few leaves that were touching the soil.

I feel great about my choice - still not sure of the actual plan, just growing some weed man.

UPDATE! just growing a long. I have given the first dose of Grow BIG.

I am using fence staples to keep the two larger plants flat. So far its working well. Not sure how this will change later. I should take a side view, I almost have a good flat top on them.

The smaller one is jam packed with growth and has the least amount of node spacing I have ever seen. I have removed maybe 4 fan leaves to favor the lower branch development. I think i will not top it just to keep her growing full speed ahead. She has a very nice color too.

I changed the soil for the clones. They are now about 75% perlite. The soil was staying too wet and this is a tendency I have year over year on various other plants. I just cant remember that soil clones need some air. Hopefully they will turn around put out some roots. Still looking great from the tops but that's not saying much.

Starting to put on some growth. I plan to pick up a trellis/net by the end of the week.

I'm thinking about another 3 weeks of veg given the size of the little one. Next update (if I remember) I will get a tape measure in there for reference of fill space.

My thought is to fill out the space with about 6 inches out from the wall. As 75% of 4ft is 36 inches. Does that sound right?

Week SEVEN

Sent those beautiful bushes outside. Weve been getting a ton of rain and the fabric pots having been handling it great.


Upgraded the Light a few days ago.


Hulkberry plus is soooo slow. I was able to clone and grow good sized plants in half the time. I feel she is just going to be problems all through flower and STRETCH like that Dickins. (hopefully I am wrong about that)

I had a bout of nute burn. Guess that FF soil is pretty hot. Haven't really needed the trio pack. Though, really only the HB+ felt the burn all the others were fine.
