Thanks KillSpam. The bulbs are 23 w replacing 100 w. They emit 1600 lumen and there are going to be a total of 12 lights at 19,000 + lumen. The other light is a T5 2FT 4LAMP. I am not worried about height any longer cuz my spare room is 8 ft tall. I am going to be using 600 watt lights when time comes. I have 1 600 w digital set up and when I get some cash Ill do another 2 I think. Any feedback on my vent idea ?

I'm from Canada.. Here high vents are typically active, while cold-air returns are typically lower.. When you call that the AC exhaust, you mean thats where the AC comes from right?? Thats not a passive hot air return like what I'd expect to exist in warmer climates.. In anycase, its probably not the best idea.. If its active you won't be able to exhaust when its on, its likely linked with vents around the house, and it may even cause furnace complications that only an HVAC guy could explain.. Any other options? If there is a window you can use that.. Just get some cheap blinds/curtains and put them up, then cover the backside with cardboard, cut a hole in it, use panda plastic to make a diy duct from hole to a fan, preferably angled/bent to keep light in.. (Obviously proper ducting with a proper fan for ducting would be better).. When I used a setup like that I even put a mini tv between the blinds and cardboard, from outside it looked like somebody was living in the room..
That chest should be fine, but if you don't plan to cut holes in it you should keep it cracked with a small fan blowing towards it to keep air in there fresh.. Come curing you'll want jars, but there is no reason you can't put the jars in the chest..

Oh, and don't drop big bucks on additional hps.. Just get the cheapest hps you can.. This will not be at a hydro store.. They may not have 600W units, but 400 & 1K are pretty commonly installed by contractors.. I paid $55 at westburne electric for a complete hps system (cords not included) that would have cost me $300 at the hydro store.. Don't worry about special bulbs, if you want more blue light, just toss a MH into the mix, you won't regret it.. I prefer bud grown under MH, its sweeter and fluffier and more crystally.. Thing is there is no denying the power of hps.. What really matters to plants is photon counts, not watts, and definately not lumens.. HPS pumps out almost 1.5x as many photosynthetically active photons/watt as MH.. IMO we should be talking about light in terms of µEinsteins, (an Einstein is 1mole of photons).. Lumens are for humans.. Our action spectrum is almost the exact opposite of plants, lumens are weighted highest where plants absorb weakest..

Yeah on the topic of vents, its the top vent taking hot air out as its sucking, and the bottom one is pushing heat and or cold air into the room. I do have a window in the room that is above the neighbor and 20 or 30 feet away do you think it would be a proper choice to vent out it ? My property is mine and I own the pad but i still have neighbors though they dont tend to bug but would if there were a issue. I would like to bring cool air in from the window and vent sweet smelly hot air out the upper vent ? But I dont know the set up of the hot air out vent ? Does it just ciculate the smell back in once it is sucked out of the room ? I have a 6 inch inline fan I am useing to vent my flowering room. I need to figure ventilation out for my new room. When it was in the crawl it was cool but now its apart of the nomal living qurters so a change of steps is needed I think.

Yeah I am going to be merking males very soon to thin my numbers out then I'll merk all the weak mother HJ or leave them in the sticks probably. I hope to get lots of lady BB because each one is a diff strain and I love flavors! I am almost possitive from what me and the women see there are already like 4 female BB preflowers. None that I can tell on the HJ. HJ is a very slow and odd formong plant. Its pheno is diffrent indded for most all of the palnts. Some have spider looken leafs and some have rounded ends on its formations. Very wierd. The BB grow amazingly fast I am sure to them being out door strains. I hope to get Cally OB,Black Pearl, and Durban Poison.MMMMMM.

What gets returned to your furnace will get redistributed throughout your house.. It may or may not pass through a hepa filter.. If you want to run tests, just get something really smelly up there and blow it in.. Cinnamon, ammonia, dog shit, its up to you..
What size is the window?? Are we talking a basment or what?? Regardless, you can likely get it working in and out sufficiently.. Separating the flow will be more important on the inside because outside air will diffuse the exhaust pretty well, but you don't want the HVAC eqv of a short circuit where cool air comes in right beside the exhaust and sucked right back out.. Its an easy solution with a bit of duct though..
Altitude makes a giant difference on odour dissipation so again you should describe/diagram your entire grow room and the exterior outside it to make it easier for ppl too spot flaws and give suggestions..
You should have a carbon filter or ozone generator ready incase odour gets too bad regardless of where you vent.. (Its actually REALLY easy to make an ozone generator from an old tv.. Monitors are a tad trickier since they don't power up without VGA signal so its a bit tougher than just yanking the HV cup.. If you're not electronically informed be careful and research safe procedures for working with crt's.. They CAN kill you even when unplugged, but can be made safe pretty easily.. If you're interested I can help, I've made more than a few dozen..) Maybe it will never be necessary, its really tough to know how bad odour will get in an area on your first grow, but its better to be an ant than a grasshopper..

Umm are you sure those preflowers aren't just emerging shoots?? Normally preflowers don't show until 5-7 nodes, near when the phylotaxy changes to alternating nodes.. HJ is strongly sativa correct?? Tall/lanky, thinner leaves?? Sativas aren't as bushy as primary indicas like BB, I would expect a BB to pop secondary shoots before a sativa.. They also have longer flowering periods (up to 14-15weeks!) and they usually start flowering really slowly compared with indicas.. They can however get upto 20' tall and yeild pounds and pounds and pounds.. Sativa bud isn't nuggy like indica either.. Kind of scraggly, lots of leaf, but packed with euphoria, none of that couch-lock BS.. I'd take a sativa over a BB any day, but indicas are alot more convenient to grow indoors (as long as humidity doesn't get out of control because their density makes them susceptable to mold), and the kids seem to love the stuff..:)

My leafs have started to get little brown spots and some turn into little holes. The leafs also have little yellowish lines on there leafs. I want to figure this out before it slows my growth like the last def. Here are a couple of photos. It seems so be happening to the larger BB and not to the HJ. I thought either a light burn or they want full strength nutes as I have been feeding half to quarter.

1/4 is too strong for foliar application to the strongest plants.. Stop that.. No need to mist them at all.. If your humidity is too low drape a towel into a bucket of water and put a fan on it.. Localized stuff like that is almost always physical burns, microscopic damage that the plant chooses to isolate to prevent spreading infection if it occurs, or bugs (which is often the cause of that microscopic damage I mentioned..
I'd only spray nutes to correct micro imbalances that would be tough to properly fix without upsetting equilibriums at the roots (like Mg)..

WOW KillSpam way to fuck my head up lol. Just smoked a bowl of this dank AK-47 mmmmm its heavy. Anyhow yeah that is probably the case then. I was in cuddling with the ladies a little ago and noticed that there leafs are kind of droopy. I have them in rockwool and because of the problems have taken to feeding them by hand. I feel the rockwool to see how much it weighs and play by ear. I also have a fan on the tray.

Well I am finally doing the 411 thing lol. Sorry bout the wait but this is life no ? Things have been quite smooth for the most. My biggest issue is controlling the temp in the closet. I have it usually at 78 to 82 with the humidity ranging between 43 to 51. Do you ladies and germs think I should be cool ?
I added another(6)100 watt replacement CFL bulbs and I busted one of my (4) T5 bulbs:angry::angry::angry: I still havent gotten sex from my plants yet and am waiting till the end of the week to see if any pre-flowers have shown yet. If not I take cuttings and move them to 12-12. Any feedback from looking at the photos whether I can take cuttings?
Older plants are going onto 5th node.
I am moving back to the drip feed set instead of hand watering them any more. They dont need all my attention now that we have moved past our nute, and light burn problem. So I will be feeding the ladies 3 times a day with full strength "TechnaFlora" hydro nutes. My drip runs bout 15 min a day 3 times daily. My lights are running 18-6 from morn till bout 1 A.M.
So far every seed I germinated has grown very strong and healthy. The root's are looking fairly healthy. They arent unhealthy looking but some of the roots have a yellowish tint ? Any clue's ?
BB has really impressed me and grown with little effort. HJ is another story. It is growing quite healthy but Gosh Damn it's slow! Here are a few photos of BB and HJ. Enjoy :D
