Hermie questions

Got a couple of hermies out of my lowryder 2 plants along wiht one male. I intend to let one of my 5 fem pollinate so I can get seeds. Should I separate the hermies from everything so they don't breed the fem?
BTW The two hermies are florning buds almost just like the fems and are smelling really good. Just don't want my subsequesnt seed to be hermie dominant.

Then why dnt u let your hermies just pollinate them selfs?

If you use one of the herms to seed your female you will have a somewhat female seed line. However you will most likely find some that will herm in that seed line. The good thing about this is it cuts out any chance of a male plant (if that is what you want). The bad is that you can come across a herm in the line and if you do not pull it out it will seed your whole crop again.

Thats how the big guys do it. They do put a lot more time, effort, and care into choosing just the right ones and taking the time to breed out the herms. But that comes with many crop rotations in the seed line.

So, If you want male and female seeds with no herms than use your male to seed your fems.

If you want a fem line of seeds with herm popping in here and ther than seed with your best herm.

Thanks man.....that info is much appreciated. I've relocated the one fem with the male and two hermies under hps so they should do their thing. The lone male doesn't seem quite as mature as the two hermies. Both hermies have lots of seed pods thickly populating the little cola they both show. Next question.....are seeds that form on the hermies themselves viable????? I've read somewhere(?) that male lowryder 2 have a decent smoke....they sure smell good!

About the herm seeds: What you have right now on your herms are pollen sacks. These are not seeds that can be saved and put into soil. They only make pollen.

Now, If you grow out your herm, it will pollinate itself because it has both male and female parts and you will get seeds out of it at the end of harvest, but you will have a higher ratio if not a 100% line of hermaphrodites if I am thinking correctly.

Thanks again...Sounds as if I need to let the hermies stay long enough to make sure the fem is bred, then pull'em....don't want to get any hermie seeds mixed in with the seeds that will form on the fem.
I am so toked at this thought of producing MY OWN...and have a steady supply of known types and qualities I may want or need at any given time. Being an older medicinal user, there some days that I want/need to SOAR with a dominant cerebral high and days that couchlock is a good thing! From what I have ready about the strains I'm growing, I'll definitely have a choice ! Friends will be happy too....:joint:

Glade to give my advice. You can learn a lot about seed breading that in turn will suck you right in and make you want to do it more and more. The endless strains that you can create makes it all the more fun.
