You sure they were true Herm? The stress of changing light schedules will make some plants throw a couple balls but doesn't necessarily make them Herm. I've only seen one true Herm in my grow.

It could be genetics or everything stated by Herb. I've had some light leakage during dark periods and power outages messing up light cycles cause a few nanners to show

Do you mean it threw some bananas (female staminate flowers)? True hermies produce male sex organs (pollen sacs - balls) where a stressed female can throw some bananas however thats not a hermaphrodite.

Bananas can be genetic. Bag seed is often the result of a plant that made bananas. Growing bag seed has a very high chance of producing bananas. Some strains will produce bananas regardless of the conditions. Others need stress such as lighting cycle interruptions, extreme heat, pests to name a few.

Some strains tend to hermie. Chemdawg was originally a cut only plant because attempts to breed for seed were majority hermie. It was bagseed probably from a hermie plant.

Bought 10 regular seeds of Bubba Kush from Greybeard. 3 straight up male. Totally acceptable. However all 7 females turned hermie and did it early. Every single one. Cali Connection was supposedly the breeder. He blamed it on Seedsman saying he bought all his seeds from them in bulk. I wouldn’t trust any of the 3 ever again.

Yes....after a couple orders from seedsman....not at all happy with quality....so many herms and un-sproutable beans.

Can anyone offer better sources? I am looking at Greenhouse seeds currently...specifically Hawaiian Snow....but having an issue finding a seller that would take a CC and not cash or bank transfer.

If you're in the US you can order domestically. You can even order directly from some breeders. I just bought a bunch of beans directly from bog and his wife. They sent a shit ton of freebies too. Better than any seedbanks I've ordered from.

I never remembered chemdawg being called chemdawg. In the early 90s sometimes you could get chem bud. I assume it was the same thing. Rumor was it smelled that way because the govt. Sprayed an isotope on it to track who was using it. Lol!
