I have a room I built a couple years ago 9' long x 4.5' wide (I think it might be exactly 5ft wide but I can go measure at anytime.
Anyways Ive had a grow tent in that area that takes up half of it and its VERY hard to work around in there and I want to expand and use my whole room that is available to me especially because im about to finally put together my RDWC system that is currently functioning as 4 bubble buckets in my tent right now (waiting for this run to end to put it together using those totes).
The ideal thing to do based on all the reading and research ive done is to achieve 50w/sqft, which in my tent (4x4) has a 1k'r in it. Im really looking to taking down my tent and utilizing the rest of the room and getting another 1k ballast. I would be running just below 50w/sqft but Im willing to make the small sacrifice but here are my questions.
Will adding another jump in my electric bill draw attention to a grow like this? From what people have told me and what I have read is that the energy companies dont even look twice at how high your bill is and what have you but unless you are missing payments that kind of stuff.
I would really like some opinions on that.
I already have the environment prepped and ready to go but my question is what should I run? I cant either run 4 big trees (one in each tote) and possibly run vertical lighting? or just keep a reflector on each bulb place them in the optimal positions.
Or should I run a massive SOG in the whole room? Which im running now in my tent.
Other than the higher electrical costs I dont really see a downside of making this transition because it would make my life SOO Much easier to be able to move around in my flower room which I can hardly do at all right now in my little tent stuffed in that room. I originally built the room to use the whole thing or flowering but quickly learned one 1k light isnt nearly enough for the square footage of the room.
My question to you other than the electrical being a possible issue drawing attention is; what do I grow? Should I SCROG (which im not very interested in general) , grow a few 4 trees at a time and let them grow as the please, or top them a few a times and then let them grow as they please.
Im looking to get maximum yield in the most efficient manner possible, The ceiling in the flowering room is about 7'9" but with the totes being about a foot and a half tall and obviously the bulb being hung will have an effect on how tall I can grow them.
Also the strain Big Bud and SSH, or a cross of SSH and Big Bud (which ended up being an accidental first for me
) accidently pollinated either the SSH to a Big bud or vice versa I cant remember it was a long time ago.
So what do you guys think. I really wanna throw in another light and use that whole room but im just worried about and electrical costs drawing attention to me. With what I have going now my bill only went up 80$ and thats running everything (except my k hps light thats on 12/12 obviously 24/7), this includes my two 6 t5 bulbs for my mothers running around the clock. I would be adding 1000watts and two 186gph water pumps in this transition.
Im just looking on some feedback on my security worries and how I should actually utilize that room the best way possible
