High CBD strains in CO - Snow Goddess lab results?

Hi all,
First time poster on this forum. I have self medicated for 20 some years, but only recently made it official with an MMJ card. The main reason that I became registered with CO state was to get access to high CBD medicine from dispensaries.

A little about my condition. I have early onset disc degenerative disease, most problems are centered at L4/L5/S1 disc. For anyone that deals with this, you know that on bad days the sciatic flare up can send shooting pain down your leg, and on the best day there is a constant pain level that just never goes away. I did the Percocet/Valium thing for years when the pain would get unbearable... got hooked on that crap, beat it after 2 weeks of sweats... never letting that happen again (I hope). Nuff of my whining.

Anyway, my research on CBD indicated that it acts as a non-psychoactive analgesic as well as an anti-inflammatory agent. Sounded great as I need full mental capacity while at work and can't medicate with THC during the day. Also, my hope is that long term the CBD can keep the inflammation down, which is what causes the sciatic flare-ups.

So, the first MMC that I visited was Denver Relief. Super nice and professional folks and I wish that I could have joined there, but they didn't have any high CBD strains. I did pick up enough of the DixieX 25mg Scrips (CBD caps) to make an informed decision on efficacy (10 caps at the tune of $110, ouch). The Scrips worked pretty good for me when I took 2 in the morning. Do the math, if used daily, the monthly costs of this medicine is prohibitive except for the wealthy. Denver Relief checked to see if there is a price break, and there is a 25% reduction on a monthly supply, but it's still too expensive.

Then I found RiverRock MMC and I thought I had found a home. I went by and picked up a 1/4oz of Sour Tsunami 2 (ST2) - excellent medicine, the CBD glow is well evident and the THC content high enough to add some euphoria. I also picked up some of their activated extract syringes and 10mg CBD caps (30 caps for $30) made from the ST2 plants. Both the activated extract and the caps are powerful meds. I take 4 of the CBD caps (40 mg total)in the morning. The caps have a quick uptake for oral meds (pretty much full onset at 1 hour) and give good pain relief and the CBD "glow" without being stoned. Actually, being the thorough kind of guy I am ( I say it's from being trained as an engineer... my old lady says I have OCD), I bought some THC saliva drug tests for an experiment. This morning, I took the 40mg of the CBD pills and then tested myself for THC two hours later. The test was negative, so it's pretty safe to say that the pills are mostly CBD with little THC if any.

So.... I bounced back into RiverRock to pick up a quantity of ST2 only to find they are sold out.... They told me at my first visit that they would be keeping it on the shelf, grrrrr. I believe that I will keep my membership with them just for the CBD caps, but that leaves me still looking for a consistent source of high CBD buds.

I have decided to grow my own (still winning the old lady over to the idea, probably will have to grow her some organic vegetables too as a compromise). I plan to build a grow room over the next month or so. I will post a journal, but that's for later. I have been scouring the Internet for high CBD clones or seeds for the last week. What I have come up with that I can legally obtain is 303 seeds Snow Goddess, which is advertised as having a strong CBD profile. Has anyone actually tested a grow of this strain for THC/CBD percentages... Or even just a THC/ CBD ratio?

I plan to visit Kind Love today, which looks to sell 303 seeds. They also are advertising two high CBD strains: Panacea (Indica) and Purple Diesel. CBD project reports that the Purp Diesel has a strong CBD profile, but I've never heard of Panacea? Will give a review of them if anyone is interested.

Sorry for long noob post. Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.

Nice to meet youBubba I am a breeder with 303 and our snow godess is usually around a 1:1.5 THC:CBD ratio we are also working with a z7 cut we acquired from the CBDcrew in spain. The cut is tested at almost 10% CBD and 5% THC out of her we managed to create our own CBD strain that has an incredible 1% THC and 7.5% CBD we are currntly working crosses with her to ensure quality so you should see some new CBD heavy strains coming to the shops soon!
With the snowgoddess she is an F1 and we have only found high CBD in about 25% of offspring the pheno is an easy spot though its the only one that turns a prple marron color.

More info on us and our strains at 303seeds.com, weedwatch.com and seeddepot.com in the 303 seeds forums

Thanks Chef. I appreciate the welcome and kind words. I will try to respect the forum and do my research before asking for help.... But I'm not too proud to ask, I know I'm a noob :-)

Here are lab results from a Snow Goddess test.

Look for the quicker flowering purple tinged pheno's for high CBD content in this cross. We've seen about 1 in 5 is CBD rich (over 4%).

Kind Love also has our 9% CBD cut of Z7 from the CBD Crew in Spain, although I don't think they've done a full harvest yet. Look for that on their shelves alongside the Panacea and Purple Diesel soon.

Thanks BP. 5.8 CBD is nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully out of a dozen beans I'll find one of the purple gals.

So Bubba, what method are you planning to use for growing? Nice post BTW, appreciate your insight and information. I am very interested to see what strain(s) turn up in your search for high CBD. The stone from some of these strains is nice at night, but totally not going to work at work, but the pain needs something. I chose hydro for my legal grow, but am looking into coco for a couple plants just to see how it works indoors.

There really is very little "stone" from a plant like the Snow Goddess in the test shown previously. The low THC makes it have almost no "buzz" at all. You can feel the CBD working, but it doesn't have a sedative effect if you smoke it in the morning.

The main reason there is so little CBD in the majority of commercialized cannabis is because you can't feel it, and it tends to turn up with low to mid THC plants that don't get you very "high". Breeders generally kept the plant/s that got them the "highest".

Give a high CBD/low THC strain a chance during the day, it might be just what you're looking for for in terms of daytime pain relief.

/\/\/\ As always, BP speaks the truth. I've been using a high CBD tincture at work and it has worked wonders for me. I work in an office environment where I could not be even a little high and perform my job. The strain I use has a 2-1 CBD-THC ratio.

I may need to give the Snow Goddess a try. The high CBD strain I use flowers for 100+ days...

Damn 100 days... you have much patients... a quality of jedi masters...
It took all the power I could not conjure. I was going to run the same strain again this winter but my timing was off and I won't be able to finish them before the heat makes the shed unusable.

That's exactly what I'm after BP. The Sour Tsunami that I had (alas it has left the bldg), was perfect at night, but at 15%CBD / 10% THC, it's just too much for me to smoke during the day. So, I'm aiming for a high CBD (looking forward to seeing how high the % will go over the next several years now that folks are actively breeding for it) / low THC strain that will be my base med and what I will use to make daytime bho coconut oil caps.

I tried the Panacea, not quite what I'm looking for, but good.

420Circuit, I will start a new thread in this forum on the grow box I'm building, took some pics over the weekend. I posted a thread in the stealth grow box forum asking questions on ventilation. I spent a few hours researching before posting but still had 2 questions that I needed help with... but I haven't got much input over there.

I have acquired buds from 2 high CBD strains (Sour Tsunami and Panacea), both were purple tinted. Kind Love was sold out of the purple diesel when I went, but I assume it has a Purp tint also lol. And, the high CBD pheno of Snow Goddess has a purple tinge. What is it with CBD and purple? Is there a connection or is it just coincidence?

Just curious.

Is that the Otto from Centennial?

BP
That's the one. They listed it as a 70 day strain but mine was still going at 100. I chopped at clear/cloudy with specks of amber here and there. Things were getting too hot in the shed as Summer came on and I had to pull the plug.

If someone had the time, space and inclination I think it would be worth trying to stabilize the CBD dominant pheno from that plant. I doubt Ben will bother with it.

I've been starting to look into the same thing. I was in a motorcycle accident about 6 months ago, and severely damaged my right arm, and the nerves in my shoulder. I'm in the process of getting myself off the painkillers, and couldn't be more thankful for my garden. I run mostly White Widow, which has been doing a good job for the pain, but its a very uppity high which is great during the day, bad at night. I've got a few new strains now so I'll see how they work for me. I've been considering ordering something form cbdcrew though. You guys have any preferences from their stuff?
