Very nice input there sir. That is my findings in short. Plants are yellow if I feed them same than ones under HPS. Good to hear that my eyesight is lying to me.
As you originally stated it was your opinion. And with limited information. You'll find plenty of experienced growers on here feeding well under 2.0 EC with healthy plants.

Yes I have also alot of experience growing under gavita hps, and ran mostly max 1.2ec and got gigantic colas of super quality bud. Now with LEDs I am learning and its hard to feed so much.

So are these growers you are talking about growing under LED or HPS or do you just quote them as the same bunch? I've seen others also mention that LEDS need more EC

Have always worked in ppm ( just the why I was taught always kept PPM 650-850 max ) under led 800 w , I think alot has to do with environment ... I had this explained to me via @Prawn Connery regarding using @Grow Lights Australia Leds and high EC, as my plants struggled , produced good smoke but something was missing so this time round the EC is up at 2.5-2.6 ( PP1200-1300) , will up this to 2.7 EC next refill as plants are in tennis ball mode and screaming for more food

How much did you use nutes (as in ppm or ec) earlier when you mentioned that something was missing from the smoke? I have always thought the same, that if you use too much nutes and plants are too dark, they dont flower as well as they could.

thats the one- read the plant- when they go dark back off EC- to light crank it up , not enough read the plant to many follow the sleep as they say ( we have all done it)( 650- 750 ppm)

If the plant was healthy all the way to harvest there's no way you can taste the high EC. It's such a ridiculous thing to say. But I am gonna assume you also "flush" your plants for the smooth clean taste. Am I right??
in my view the plants just were not right - always chasing something, smoke was abit taste less bland and buds some times not dense- FLUSHING for toilets only knoobs flush

i think we just need to get rid of the ppm measurement and run off ec. Ec is always going to be the same number. Ppm depending on where your tds came from. Could be x700 or x500. 1.0 ec can be 500 or 700ppm. Depending if it’s metric or not.
I see run off ec as a window to my plants nutrition needs, if it's unacceptably high i back off if it's unacceptably low i increase it.

In the last few years we've gotten some good data from studies, finally being done with drug cannabis, that proves high levels of phosphorus, for ex, are counterproductive. In that study, yield was highest between 30-90ppm P (with 30 ppm P having 80% the yield of 90ppm), BUT <30 ppm P contained the highest levels of THC. https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpls.2021.657323/full Yield went up slightly with higher P, but cannabinoid levels went down. This isn't the only study to show a decline in cannabinoid levels as NPK increases either. I'm curious to see why you guys are pushing high EC, what is the result you hope to achieve? Higher yields? I've always associated lower EC fed crops with increased quality and better flavor, and also, as Kassi noted, lower costs and less waste. Most fertilizer schedules set high EC levels because they want to sell product, that's how its always been.

I know this topic is for mostly on hydro/coco, but w/ soil most fertilizer err on the side of use more.

It is probably pretty close, so I’m not dismissing the schedules as complete malarkey, but dude someone really needs to go back to school and not sleep through science and math classes, if they can’t understand how vague and variable a schedule is when it says “use a ton of grams per liter, unless you’re using it with “any other nutrients” (literally that specific) then only use half-a-ton of grams per liter”.
