There were some pretty good phenos to find in a pack of big bud, but no way could I get away with it nowadays here in Ca, not since prob like 2005? lol.
Yeah I heard alot of people having big yields with nirvanas ICE strain 3 or 4 years back. I wanted to grow big bud just to see what i could get under a scrog at the time. Off memory it was about 18 ozs? (Over a pound) Under a 600w hps. In just over a square metre. (Dosing co2) and I know environment fluctuated a bit so could of been better. but what a kick seeing those buds explode in such a short timeframe!
My buddy and I found a kick ass pheno of nirvanas ice. The thing could withstand temps above 90 and never molded even in 60-70% humidity. Was frosty and tasted good. My buddy ran it for years.
The Ice pheno I kept put out solid colas. Easy to trim, frosty, straight smelled like gasoline. Looked nothing like the shitty photo on big book of buds.
Exactly bro. That pic in big book of buds was shitty in comparison. I heard nirvana changed the ice, lost genetics for it or something but I heard its not the same anymore.

Would nirvana have a strain already crossed with the old ice? Like possibly iced grapefruit? May still be able to track down the old ice from nirvana through something they crossed it with and grow a bunch of those seeds and look for the most ice dominant pheno maybe??I’ve often thought about it but never did. That sucks if their ice isn’t the same as their old ice though.
I grew that Ice and Misty by Nirvana in the early 2000's good yield and smoke, but not as good as some newer crosses.

I'd recommend Dream Catcher by Greenpoint, for a Blue Dream cross. Pheno's are all over the place with varying degrees of Blue Dream and Chem influence from the Stardawg. Some big yields can be pulled, as well.
That brings me back. I had a pheno of ice that was similar to an Og or Chem with long clusters of solid popcorn buds. This girl reeked of str8 turpentine or pine and kerosene. I swear it was ahead of it's time. Some people didn't like it because it was so different.
