Highfidelity's First Grow CFL (Bagseed)

Update 02/04/10

The growth seemed to stunted in the beginning stage of flower, but the two big ones are starting back up again it looks like. It's looks like I've officially got four females, which is just damn lucky. Anyway....here's the pics.

What do you mean did you wait too long? if you got a hermie its either in the genetics of that seed, or you have some kinda of light leak which effected that plant

I was worried if the pollen sacs had opened yet. I don't think it was a light leak as it was the furthest back in the closet and the two closest to the door have been flowering fine. It looks like I'm okay. Guess that's what you get from growing bag seed.

Lots of bud growth along with overall growth. It's been almost three weeks in flowering and I'm pretty satisfied with what I'm seeing so far. The big ones have grown at least 7" since start of flowering and the 4" is now at 9". The small one is really going to be interesting it'll probably be 90 days from seed when all is said and done. It's got me thinking about trying a 90 day for my next grow, but that all depends on what this one produces I suppose. The big ones will be about 120 days when all is said and done. I've been add light nutes to the waterings and that seems to do the trick with the smaller plant, but still getting some slight curling with the big ones.

The smell is pretty awesome, but it hasn't been overwhelming. It says inside the closet without spreading to the rest of the house. I need to think about investing in an air cleaner just to stay on the safe side though. Considering I'm not quite at three weeks yet I'm excited to see how things end up in five weeks.

It also looks like one of the big plants is a hermie. It only has balls here and there.....I've been cutting them off as I see them. Am I fighting an uphill battle by doing this? I can't believe I didn't see them before. I'm assuming that growing bagseed probably means that I grew hermie seed so I shouldn't be surprised that this has happened.

Yeah, I've put up some light weatherstripping around the door and I'm going to run lowest possible light in my room to avoid the rest of them turning that way. Damn. Just got hold it off for another 5 weeks or so. I've just got be just vigilant about keeping light out and snippin' those balls off. I've accepted the fact that I'll have a few seeds. It's weird in that the balls are very sporadic. Maybe in two or three places tops when I see them. I would've thought they'd be all over the place.

yeah you just gotta keep an eye on the balls, and make sure they dont nut all over them selves

2/20/10 Update

Tomorrow will be four weeks of flowering, but I can tell that one of them is going to need longer than that. It's seems a bit too underdeveloped compared to the rest of them. I'm going to get a hold of the good camera again and I'll take some quality pics sometime next week.

I'm noticing the plants are needing more water than usual. I suppose it would since it's producing it's flower. I was watering every other day, but now on the days off I'll give them about 1/4 of what I give them on watering days. When those plants are hungry they droop so much I was afraid a cola was going to snap.

I also haven't noticed any more balls on the hermie, which is nice, but also worries me as to how much of the bud is going to have seeds in it.

Im sure they will be fine, and it going to be longer then 4 weeks flowering for a plant to be done

Oh yeah, I'm planning on eight weeks minimum, but what I meant to say is that one of these girls is going to need probably 10 weeks of flowering, but I've heard that's not uncommon.

oh ok lol sorry about that :dunce:

usually with CFL's its takes the buds a lil longer to mature, but the longer you wait, the better

Sorry, never did get the camera.

Anyway, the plants have been flowering for 5-1/2 weeks now. They look better every day. The pistils have started turning orange so it looks like everything is on schedule from what I've read. The lower leaves are starting to yellow and fall off, but this all seems like it happens to most so I'm not too worried. I did learn a lesson in that I went a few hours late on my watering schedule and when I finally got in there those plants looked like they've been starving for days. They are becoming very sensitive to their feedings.

I'm coming up against a problem in a little over a week. I'm going with a friend to SXSW and I'll be gone from the 11th to the 21st. I've heard of some growers not watering during the last week of flowering, but is it wise? The 21st will be eight weeks and it was my planned harvest date, but I'm thinking it'll have to be if they aren't going to get watered for over a week. Do I harvest early? Do I buy some aqua globes for them and just hope for the best?
