Home Depot is a bad joke

i've been growing in coco hempy buckets for years. a couple of years ago, i ordered some coco from home depot. it came quickly, was a good product, no problems. i ordered again recently, and the coco that came was unusable, it had to have been scraped up off of the bottom of the pile, it was hard packed fines that refused to rehydrate, and stayed in chunks the size of my thumb until manually crushed...i hoped that it was a one time occurence, ordered a different brand, same fucking thing...so i bought it from amazon for quite a while. i just noticed that they had viagrow coco on sale for a good price at home depot, so being the fucking masochist that i am, i ordered from them again, hoping that it being a different brand would make a difference....and it might, if i could ever get the fucking shit...it's on back order. why is it ok for stores to say they have something they don't have? why the fuck would they do that? do they want to piss a lot of people off? because that seems to be the result of their recent business practices. i think that i'm going to start boycotting home depot, they have shitty politics, anyway.

i am pissed, but this isn't just me venting, i'm at least trying to warn others, if you need something within a certain time frame, be very careful who you trust to get it there, and be aware home depot is NOT a reliable time sensitive shipper, at all, and that the quality of their products is fluid at best, with no guarantee you'll receive the same quality product from purchase to purchase.

Only Coco I've ever bought from a box store was Ace Hardware. Since it became legal here in VA they started selling bags of the mother's earth coco and it's pretty nice. Def wouldn't use HD or Lowe's lol

they don't have a store brand, but they don't stock it in store, you have to go to their website and either pick it up at the store, or have it delivered...the stuff that wouldn't rehydrate was vermont reclaimations, which i had used previously, with no problems. this time they had viagrow on sale for a very good price, like 13 bucks for a 5 kilo package, but they're selling it without having it on hand...i kind of need it now, which is why i ordered it 4 days ago, and they just today sent me an email basically saying woops, we fucked up, so you have to wait till we can pull our heads out of our asses and get our shit together...

Home Depot definitely does suck. I've never ordered anything online from them but my in-store experiences have been extremely poor. I looked and that is a decent price for the Viagrow coco coir but if it's not available price doesn't matter.

Not the same price but if you need it shipped fast they have Botanicare 11 lb compressed bricks on Amazon for $19.27. Shipping time is different in different areas based on warehouse locations but where I'm at it says it would be here Friday if I ordered today.

I despise Home Depot and only shop there when absolutely necessary. One thing I never do is ask an employee where something is because they always send you to the wrong location. It just pisses me off that if they don't know they don't say. They just guess. It sounds like the online system is a pretty poorly setup online store if they can't keep the inventory correct.

Have you ever tried shopping there in person? It's as bad or worse, but then you also wasted the time getting there and back.

Lowe's is not that much better, but at least they are a minority-owned business, so I will support them over home depot if I have the option.

Ace has the best gardening dept out of the major hardware stores, but their prices are a lot higher than the bigger stores.

Garden centers/nurseries are probably your best bet, if there is one local to you...

They actually used to have bricks in stock on the shelves, and even pre bagged coco for a little while. And 2 part hydro nutes. Black magic or something...

You don’t have a hydro store around? We had one in like 2003
it's not legal here, we got shit for weed stores, and it's a tourist town, so we got shit for malls.
there's a home depot and a lowes, right across from each other. i usually go to home depot, because i have to cross one less busy street to get to it, but i have no particular loyalty to either one
