Hey there fellow hydro fans. Just thought I'd show how I monitor my res. levels without having to pop the lid off and look. I'm sure plenty of you have already seen something like this(matter of fact, there may already be a similar thread)...but if I can help just 1 person, then well, thats all that matters.
It is very simple to make...heres how I did it. I got a small 90 degree elbow fitting at the local hardware shop and the correct clear tubing to go on it. Then I drilled a hole that allowed the fitting to "fit" snugg. Then I siliconed around the fitting on the inside of the res. and the outside with silicone made for bathroom stuff. After it was dried I had to add specific amounts of water, so my indicator would be accurate....in my case it was a three gallon bucket. After I poured in each buckets water I made a line with a sharpie on the tubing...and wrote the coresponding amount on the res next to it. And thats pretty much it....very easy to do, yet it makes things so much easier.
