I just finished my fixture for my first grow it holds 14 cfls and it is 26"x16" I'm probably gonna use 2 42 watt bulbs in the middle and 12 23 watt for the rest do you think this will be enough light for one plant i plan to lst 2011-10-26_11-09-33_127.jpg

I like it. really nice.

An Idea for you to consider... Putting a couple small exhaust fans to pull the warm air up though the light board. so your main exhaust can carry the air away.

Just a thought. Great job! I may copy some of this for my next addition of lights.

you will get less heat and more light from a 400w ceramic metal halide... just sayin ;)

but it IS nice work. very nice.

You'll definately be able to grow a plant under that...but the issue with lower powered CFL's is that the penetration factor just isn't there...so you have to keep them within a few inches of the plant as its strength dies off exponentially...so I would use that panel with a scrog...so you can keep the canopy the same height away from all those bulbs :) Good luck!

I'm a big fan of homemade grow equipment and you designed a nice light fixture, slim. It'll be a good amount of light shining down on your ladies, but I agree with massah that there won't be enough light penetration. Aside from doing a scrog, you could also toss in more lighting around the grow as well. Best of luck!

don't get me wrong, that thing is going to blind you if you look right at it...but your best bet is a scrog to get the most out of it!
