Homestretch

I am in the homestretch with a longer flowering plant. Just a month to go and on cruise control for nutes. I have been adding stuff into my soil as a top dressing sorts in the hope this will add to the taste and smell of my buds. I did this before with awesome results. Recently I saw a website saying to add essential oils to the watering can (6-8 drops/gallon) to alter the taste of veggies. Sort of a companion gardening idea on steriods. Basil or oregano flavored tomatoes, lemony parsley.
Everyone is aware of using molasses to flavor weed, what about lemon peel or cinnamon.
I added a bunch of cinnamon and my strongest tasting molasses to the soil and the result was a snickerdoodle smelling bud.
I am at it again. Looking for suggestions of flavor or combinations that might be fun to try. I have lemon peel on one, cinnamon on another. I tried pine pitch once, I'll never do that again.

You should look into why people actually put molasses into their plants root zone. Also, try hot sauce, maybe you’ll get spicy cannabis.
I am familiar with concepts of feeding microbes, sucrose feeds microbes. Molasses is different because it adds minerals and flavors. The unsulphured molasses is especially good because the late season stop is higher in minerals.
Capsicum Cannabis? Tanks for the suggestion though, I'll file that with pine pitch.

Bro i thought this when i first started growing weed (age 13) and was told apple juice and sprite and other bullshit would flavor the weed... the truth is that certian things can inhance the flavors that are already in the plants make up.. you cant put flavoring via the root system through the plant cells and into the buds.. it just doesnt work that way.. if so, my buds would taste like cow shit, horse shit, chicken shit, ect..

An interesting bunch of comments. Not very rece

I am specifically referring to aromatic rings like in essential oils. Cow shit has a smell from bacteria, not benzene rings/aromatics. Flowers are full of aromatic rings so there is a use for them in the flower. Not all aromatic rings are something we want either. Apple juice has some minerals, not aromatic rings.
Citrus peel works well. I have used lemon juice to pH all my waters (I toss in the zest) and in the end the weed was obviously lemony. We can add flavors to plants via the roots. Companion gardening people already experience this stuff. Know the difference between shit and shinola. I am not going to convince you of anything or sell you a product. Basic chemistry and a little horticulture, I am talking to the wrong group.

So does candy flavoring consitrates have aromatic rings?
Like banana flavoring? Fruit punch? Strawberry? Ect.
I don't know about all that. Basically if it is soluble in water it is not an essential oil. It is oil right. I think there is an essential for strawberry. Fruit punch, no. I have a gooseberry bush that taste like fruit punch, I don't think there is much demand for gooseberry essential oil. I have seen some weird stuff as essential oils. Perfumes are essential oils. Some like that taste.
I am not looking to add Koolaid crap to my precious work. I recognized long ago that molasses is added to improve the taste. Some will argue that it is to feed the microbes, I can't think of a much more expensive way to feed sugar to the soil. Molasses is a mineral bomb and it taste great.
I use synthetic nutes but, I am not talking about making some candy coated shit for the kids down the street. I grow a garden and don't add crap to it. I will add many things to improve my crops taste. I was already messing around with every kind, type and brand of molasses I could find. Then I used a lot of it in my tent. My grow room smelled wonderful.
One day someone suggested adding cinnamon powder. Then I discovered more huge differences in smell, quality and price. Right now some smaller stores still have last years prices on spices, the new prices I saw are about double. That cinnamon added to the smell of the room. The cinnamon added to the buds as well. Without saying anything a sample was dispersed. 4 out of 4 claimed that bud smelled like cookies and cinnamon.
I'm not going against the hippy guru code, all natural for this part. I was hoping to find a receptive audience in a lot of pot smokers. Hippies not hipsters. No allky-pop for me. I drink pilsner, port, and mead. If you keep an open mind people will fill it with shit.

Yep! My brother is a grocery vendor. He said the smaller brands have not restocked with higher prices YET.
Two years ago I was using molasses together with cinnamon. My tent smelled like snickerdoodle cookies. The buds smelled of cinnamon when I open the jars. The taste was different than the other buds.
