Hose clamp rant - Home Hardware

I don't know why the simplest things can seem so difficult. Everything in my tent is 6" so I need clamps, go to home hardware in Ontario and they have 4.5" and 6.5" but nothing in between. I find in general getting what should be basic stuff in Canada is always a challenge and I usually need to go to Amazon for what should be standard stuff. Securing 6" ducting shouldn't be a challenge. I had to resort to zip ties and ducting aluminum tape to hold my ducting in place.

I guess it wasn't good enough because in the middle of the night the duct hose decided to pop off of the exhaust fan in my tent. Meaning no exhaust half the night, it was just venting back into the tent.

I saw my RH was up to 70% from the external probe. I figured it out my exhaust wasn't working because the tent was all puffed out. I had to open the side to access and fix the connection with duct tape for now. The problem is there's 3 hours until lights on. I'm in the basement and it's pretty dim, so I'm hoping the bit of light that got in there, for the 5 minutes it was open, wasn't harmful. I also hope the 6 hours of high RH was short enough to not cause problems. I'm back down to 45% now, it should be 40% when the lights kick on.

6.5" has a range of 6-1/16" - 7"
The exhaust fan has a 6" connection, tighten it all you want it's still going to be loose.
Anyway I just ordered some 6" clamps from amazon

You can use foil backed hvac tape. They gotta have that. I tear mine off in about 4" pieces so I dont get a bunch of wrinkle. I used that and clamps on mine. Whatever works.

Or you could marry up two smaller ones...
I couldn’t find any clamps for my 8” exhaust fans so I married up two in order to make it big enough
