Hot Shot Pest Strip safe for tent?

The strips should be fine, but I'd go to a hydroponic store. They carry these yellow strips that attract a wide variety Of bugs. I personally use them near my plants, you wanna make sure everything is Gonna be safe for human consumption after harvest.

strips good for bugs not for you
i use them takes about 5 days to cure a problem
then i baggy them up till next time
sum just leave them out
but truth being not good for you
a few days of short visits ok for me whn i use them

They are extremely toxic to people and pets, all vapors must be ducted away.

Those hot shot no pest strips should only be used as a last resort........and for the shortest period possible........definitely a no no during flowering.........good luck

Use it at lights out with fan off and ducts closed, put it in the tent and close it up tight. 1 session of a few hours should kill the bugs. They use the chemical in these strips to keep bugs off the grain you eat in your bread etc. You are already ingesting this stuff(or would be if it hung around for any time). It dissipates within a few days leaving almost nothing in the pot. It is a gas, does not stick to stuff.

Not gonna hurt you if you do it like I said. You can save the strip for later use by putting it in air tight container. I hold my breath when I grab it out of tent after treatment and air out the tent and room before breathing in that area.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I purchased some actual sticky pads and I think I am going to throw the hot shot in the tent before the lights turn off and let it set over night with no fans running. Hopefully the bugs I've been seeing around my sativa go away.

These things emit toxic vapors and really should not be used whatsoever around your plants. They are not suitable for places frequented by people, pets, where food is present, etc. and they are even advertised explicitly for use in "non-living" spaces.

Dichlorvos is the active ingredient and it is a very toxic and volatile organophosphate which has been closed to being banned outright on several occasions. In humans it is a known acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (as are many venoms, natural poisons and nerve agents).

Eye contact:
Highly toxic. Mildly irritating to eyes.
Skin contact:
Highly toxic, due to possible absorption. Mildly irritating to
skin.
Ingestion:
Highly toxic by ingestion. Refer point 4 for symptoms.
Inhalation:
Highly toxic by inhalation depends on volatility of
compound. See point 4 for symptoms.

There are definitely better, safer alternatives to this for whatever pest problem you may be having. Examples are: pyrethrins, which are harmless to people and pets and break down very rapidly (pyrethrin can be used even in the days before harvest), Organocide which is made of fish and sesame oil, and Neem oil which is botanically derived and contains a wide range of natural pesticides.

Thanks Nullis. This "hot shot" has been hanging in a walgreen's bag on my key rack for almost a week now and I have yet to decide whether I am going to use it or not. You made up my mind. It shall return to its place on the shelf at walgreen's tomorrow. Thanks!!
