House's water main ph level too much?

My house's PH is around 7.2~7.3 is this too high?
I know it should be between 6.0-7.0 for soil but will the soil or nutes(Canna) bring down that PH level?

I've got bottled water of PH6.5 for my seedlings, should I just buy some PHdown from the store for the later weeks?
 
i beleive that it would depend on your soils ph really, and i would add a touch of ph down to at least bring it below 7 a lil bit.. add some molasses to bring ph down if you rather it will help your soil and plant to become healthier too!! how often do you water?

Bleh, just tested my soils PH, came out at 5.3 :( After 8+ flushes it was at 5.8, what a bummmeerr!! I've got 6 pots to fill too, this'll take all night..

Can anyone suggest a quick way to get mass amounts of soil ph up quicker?

you can grind lime down to a fine powder to raise pH up right away but i would suggest to just crush it up half fines and small chunks works quick and lasts awhile longer
 
dolomite lime is what you need its cheap to buy mix it in your soil before you plant in it is the best way it works slowly so it will last a long time 5.8 is low but its not a crisis right away my soil was in the 4.5 area and my plant still grew didnt notice any physical problems till i started to flower thats how i found out then i had to water the lime into the soil which dont work as well as mixing it in before you plant it
 
I'm in the same boat but am fixing the issue by correcting my water, My tap water is at 7.5 and run off after watering is about 7 so put the water to 6.8 and now my run off is 6.5. I wouldn't worry about the PH of the soil or that is what I've been told by all the growers around here unless you have some funky mixed dirt and or nute build up.
 
well my water went in at around 6.5 to 7.0 and at first it come out a little below but if you let the water sit in the soil for 20 minutes then water again my run off is like 4.5 or 5 if thats nothing to worry about why was my plant locking out nutrients and dieing?? maybe they got soil with dolomite lime pre mixed in it and dont have this problem!!
 
Sweet! Actually I was thinking of continually flushing about 6ish gallons to around the same PH and when I transplant them then I'll add the lime, since I'll be flowering around that time... (2-5weeks - 12/12 from seed)

i would say you are better off adding it right away because it actually takes awhile to increase the pH and be careful you dont get mold on your soil from it being to wet you should let it dry out in between watering
