I didn't think the state accepts personal checks, think they state money order. I Could be wrong though.

I've never heard of someone using anything other than a personal check before this thread.

And the state cashes your check first thing. Whoever was told that they only cash your check if your approved got lied too. They cash your check and then start processing your paperwork and if you get denied they will refund you your money, if you ask them too that is.

yep. you got a year that they hold the funds to be used should you correctly submit paperwork. went thru that when I misunderstood that a doctor cert was necessary when renewing. Got to make sure that doc gets his cut anually even though your spine isn't going to straighten itself out and your AIDS is not going anywhere!

You aren't high yet? Have you called on the money order to see if it was cashed. There is a way of doing it.

depends on brand of money order. Look on receipt.

I thought a "paper" card was supposed to be given to patients until the "hard" card arrived. Is is not true that we can use the temporary paper card while waiting for our hard card to be sent? .... I'm wanting to move to Michigan so I can become a patient and grower for others. Thanks!

A friend of mine was denied due to incomplete paper work because it was missing a date. His check was never cashed

Years ago when i first applied i got pretty nervous after waiting 6 months for my card to show up while i already had a grow in progress. After several emails to the state i finally received a reply from a woman named Melissa from the Department of Community Health, she informed me that as long as the state had cashed my check i was legal. Maybe things are different now that LARA is handling things.

There is no temporary paper card. Copies of the exact paper work you sent to the state as well as proof of certified mail and a copy of you check showing it was cashed is your temporary proof until the actual card arrives.

I received a letter from the state on my last renewal which stated that the letter would act as my card until the actual card arrived.
