How amber is an amber trichome?

Hi,

My ladies are close to being done. They went through some stuff, but have just made it to day 69 of flowering! What a great day.

I am looking at the trichs and I definitely see some that are reddish, but it is really only the stalk of the trichome that is reddish. I’ve seen pics of reddish trichomes where they are all reddish and look a bit shrivelled.

Am I looking for full on brown and shrivelled trichs or is a trich considered amber once the stalk is reddish? And what percentage of trichs do I want to be amber? I’ve got Tropicana Cookies and I’m itching to chop them.

Any help is appreciated, I’d provide photos - but I have no macro photo equipment Soz.

You can always put your loupe over your camera phone to take a picture of the trichs.
But to answer your question, the consensus seems to be between 10-30%.
My experience is the heads turn amber first while the talks still remain clear. I never let them get further than that.
There's a ton of pics on Google for "amber trichomes".
