How are they looking so far?

First grow...started with hydro DWC planned on keeping it indoors but realized it wouldn't be that hard to conceal it outside since I'm out in the country. Learning fast what NOT to do... Definitely have to check pH of water and really take it easy on them during the transition from grow lights to sun AND hydro to soil. I've also learned not to do do both of these transitions at the same time.

Let me know what some of you experts think, the larger barrel is special kush and the taller barrel is Ice. The 5 gal dwc was one that didn't do well with the transition...she said SHADE I said fuck that you need SUN and she wasn't happy...but she's coming back around IMG_20180614_144623290.jpg IMG_20180614_144655674.jpg

Looking nice and bushy... So what's your grow plan? Is this a first grow? I can relate to not having anyone to talk to about this hobby of mine my people look at me like I have three heads while I babble on about cultivation shit and what I plan and learn, kinda sucks.. But hmu man I'd love to follow your grow! I also have one going check it out sometime my first grow ever! Peace and respect.

We're on the same page brother I have to shut myself up when I start blabbing about rooting fungus or something like a regular person would be interested lol it's just me and my weed and a couple select friends...but then I hear some trashy guy talking about this weed hes got is the bomb...there's like so many trichomes blah blah and there I am pretending not to know anything... Its like I'm undercover or something lmao

Sounds like you have some experience...here's a stupid question... Can you ballpark what kind of yield I could get off these? I'm still tying them down so I think they will continue to "grow" before the flowering switch but you can see the pics...I counted 52 bud sites on the special kush a few days ago but new ones are coming up too. Done alot of topping early on to make an even canopy

I wouldn't even venture a guess but I suggest pinching off some of the newer and lower bud sites. In my experience better buds in the end. Others might have different experiences. But I would guess at least a half pound dried and cured would be a safe bet

I guess my brain is thinking more about quantity and less about quality, I could see why pinching off smaller bud sites would be beneficial but I'd rather have a lb of level 9 weed then half a lb of level 10 lol I'd be happy with a 1/2 lb but I feel like it could be significantly more....we shall see

Are you using Great White or Mykos? They really help with nutrient uptake.
I tried mykos and really liked the results and then did a little more research and now I'm trying great white. They're prices are brutal but it's a noticeable difference . I also read something that said you can make your own mycc. basically by making a compost pile with the algae and mixing it. That's what I gathered from what I read, I may try it next year

You know if there's anything besides co2 that could help with light transition? That's my biggest concern at the moment. I start with cfl/led and switch to sun after they get to a decent size but twice now I've thought they were ready for full sun and I was wrong...now it's a minimum of 3 days in shade

Even under HID before taking out I've still noticed some shock or setback in some strains especially. If possible morning light with midday or afternoon shade helps best. Then full sun. I'm originally from southern New Mexico

I work nights so I typically set them out late at night and see how they're doing around noon or so. Its kind of nice on nights cuz I check them every morning and have just enough time for watering and a little misting on the leaves before the sun comes up

Decided to bury the barrels so I have more room to grow vertically. Molly the collie is intriguedIMG_20180619_094759780.jpgI've tried a few different ways of tying down stems...trial and error but I think I came up with something insanely simple and pretty much risk free and it literally takes secondsIMG_20180619_094851304.jpg
Stake in the ground...clothes pin fits right over it and slides down where you want it...no strings...no knots...no cutting zip ties and easily removable without damaging the plantIMG_20180619_094836475.jpg
I think it's interesting to see the inner leaves that have been starved of light start growing and taking off when you make them the tallest by bending down the others. It's also interesting how the kush is more roomy and easy to manipulate but the ice is very bushy and packed tight...and the stems are much easier to break
