Hello

i had my seeds in a glass with water and everything seemed fine, they were floating perfectly. I had another one in a sponge. the one that was floating in the water seemed to releae im guessing a root; i tried taking it out but i think i was to rough and caused the root to come off. do you have any tips on how to prevent ruining your seed? please help

im kinda new to growing and i want to take it serious this time, prior to the other times were i just put a seed in and wish something would pop up.

say if I just put a seed in with out germinating how long would it to sprout and be noticable, i heard from 3 to 5 days, is that correct? :?

thank you very much

ok put them inbetween 6 sheets of kitchen paper moisten it everyday and check before you moisten for a root (ie the thing you cracked off) then when it shows gently grab it by the shell part and put it in your soil (make an hole about 1cm down with a pen then put it in and cover gently

Another method is to soak them in a glass of water for 24 hours and then plant them before the root pops out. Less chance of damaging the, as you found out, tender root.

exactly what he said, the roots look like a pale, almost albino, white and should be easy to handle, if anything you can take something like a knife and gently scrap it into the soil GENTLY is the key here.
