How can i tell what stems will become colas?

Will the ends of all stems become colas and bud in flowering? Someone please help me out here.

All i want is 4 colas to go into flowering. and i want to pinch off new growth this time to keep cutting to a minimum!

That doesn't help him much.

Technically, all stems become colas. If you want four good sized colas, either top the plant or LST the plant so it has four stems that go all the way to the top of the canopy. These will then become big colas

THAT doesn't help him much. all stems do NOT become colas. only if no other stem is higher than it. as in TOPPING.

the way to get multiple colas is to trick growth sites that they are the leader. see: topping to get 2 or 4 colas

Uncle Bens topping for 2 or 4 main colas is the thread I would be reading.......pinch above the first true node for 2. Pinch above the second true node for 4. Most pinch when the 5th or 6th node appears....

depends how you define colas, if you scog a plant then all the growth is cola if you do it right

each branch will have some bud growth on it, the closer to the light it is will normally make it bigger although some strains have heavy lower branches

general rule is, if you can get it in direct light, it will become a cola, there is no real limit to how many colas a plant can produce it very much depends on strain
and training methods

true dat........LST fools plants into forming multiple colas also. any time the leader growth tip is removed, or bent below 90 degrees, that releases hormones like auxin, to shift lead growth to other limb(s).

some plants grow this way naturally
at the moment i have eisabaer from alphakronic it is growing 1 cola it is a tall slender indica type plant natutally, if i topped it, then it would grow maybe 2 or 4 colas

i also have blues from ugorg , which is a sativa skunk hybrid, this plant will make at least 10 colas , it naturally grows in a bush shape with multiple colas equal height of the central main cola

also i have biker kush from karma genetics, this one is also an indica but this one grows bolt upright colas that are all as tall if not taller than the main cola
these will all become colas too
every branch grows directly upward not out horizontally like the typical christmass tree shape or like eisabaer

all stems do turn colas. the only difference is the height of the stem. if it reaches the top of plant canopy then it will be large fat cola, if it doesnt reach that high then it will still be a cola just not as large as the top ones. How else do people get hella bud from hella branching.
