How close to harvest?

How long does it typically take to reach 75% red hairs from the point when red hairs begin to occur? My girls started showing red hairs about 8 days ago so I started flushing to prepare for harvest, and am just wondering how long I should expect until it's choppy choppy time.

from my experiance you have about two weeks left

u shouldnt of held off alittle longer before flushing but it doesnt hurt...dont go by the hairs go by the thccrystals..you need a magnifier between 30x and 100x, pick a spot with alot of crystals and magnify it so you can see the little individual crystals..they almost look like little white mushrooms.. if they are all see through or very clear do not harvest just yet...wait till about 50% of the crystals are a auburn to maple syrupy color..this means that the thc content is at its max

dont wait until the crystals are over 75% auburn because the thc content would be dropping

My plants have 90% red hairs before i even begin to flush and have had red hairs first showing over 4 weeks. Like Juicycola said, you should go by the color of the trichomes. Personally I harvest when 30-50% amber.

Interesting. I've only been flushing for 6 days (three waterings) and could just go back to ferts. in two more days. I hit her pretty heavy for several waterings before anyway, so it wouldn't be too devastating.

I should get a magnifying glass, then? Aside from some catastrophes and being my first grow things have gone well. I've learned a ton, and the only big regret I have is not buying baller lights to begin with. I'm using a 150w hps (suck!) for flower, which I fear is going to heavily limit my bud quality. Nevertheless, I'm going to use it for a while still until I've got some capital to invest into a 400w or 1000w.

Alright, back to this magnifier thingy. Will a magnifying glass suffice? Can I get some links to visuals of how crystals ought to look and might look? This could help a great deal!

Order a jewelers eye loupe, at least 15X. You can get them off of ebay. As far as flushing so early...another option is to give your girls a little blackstrap mollasses to keep 'em going. The carbs along with the trace elements will be ok, as long as you don't have too far to go. Have you noticed any problems with the girls since flushing(discolored leaves, leaf shape change, etc)? Also, are these bag seeds or seeds you purchased? If so, what strain are they?
