HOW DO I FIT A 4 inch VENT TO A 6" AIR COOLED REFLECTOR?

Sorry for the dumb question but I want to connect 6" air cooled sealed reflector to a 4" fan and then to the 4" exhaust. What is the best way to do this?

Go to Home Depot or your local Hardware store. They make adapters to connect different sizes. Go ahead and get a few adjustable elbows also. I know duct hose will curve and bend to fit. But every corner or sharp bend in the ducting you can replace with a solid bend will increase airflow greatly.

Yep, exactly. Let me say though, i would strongly recommend you use 6 inch ducting and fan, I have to use 2 6 inch fans to keep my light cool on my 400w hps cooltubed as is, so 4 inches might be too small for your light and needs. Just a thought
Should I start looking for a smaller watt light or possibly LED? I have no other way to exhaust, other than connecting to the bathroom's 4" exhaust duct. What are my options?; my room is approximately 4.5 x 3'x 6.5.

Hey guys thanks for your time!

so your bathroom exhaust has a fan sucking out air already? how many cfm is it? if your grow areas ambient temps are not too bad and you run the lights at night you'll probally be fine. I didnt mention some details about my grow i meant to, I need both of those on during the day when it gets really hot and i need to suck cool air from the basement with one and pull out hot air into the attic with the other.

I removed the bathroom exhaust fan and installed a 4" ventilation duct from the grow room to the bathroom's 4" exhaust duct leading outside. Now I'm worried about having excess temperatures within the space. I was hoping to connect the adaptor to bring the 6" reflector to 4" without any issues (noise?). I can't find any other venting options for the space. I wanted to research and have a general understanding before making any costly purchases. The grow space and bathroom are located in a cool basement. I can post pictures of the setup if that helps. thanks!

You will be fine, Your basement is the best possible place for them to be in terms of controlling heat. Are you planning on making/buying a carbon filter for the exhaust? i understand what your saying about the ducting and how you connected it but im kinda unsure if your saying a fan is still hooked up and connected with all of them or that you just completely removed the fan when u did the ducting.

yes I plan on getting a carbon filter. I want to place equipment in the following order > filter > sealed reflector> fan> exhaust.
I removed the bathroom fan and connected the vent dust to the existing bathroom ventilation duct.
should I look at getting a 6" fan with a controller or is that overkill?
