how do i know when my seed cracks?

hey guys i know this sounds like a stupid question but i have my little ones in a clear plastic cup in a cabinet on top of a heating pad. Will i see the seed actually crack? Or will i know its cracked when it sinks to the bottom of the glass?


After this i plan on either putting them directly into rockwool cubes or should i put them in wet paper towels on a heating pad untill i see more of a sprout?

What do you guys think?

You'll have to wait for someone more anal than I to answer that one... I simply put my seeds straight into the soil. If seeds are fresh, I never have any problems. People tend to create too many steps in their grow unnecessarily in my opinion. Imagine if farmers went through these convoluted steps. We'd have starved long ago
Try and think of a single other plant where anyone does this other than for educational purposes.
The shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line...

The seed is gonna crack by it's self....Then a little white thing is gonna start coming out"root". once the root comes out and you think its ready. stick it into the rockwool. but remember the pointy part where the root is sticking out goes down.http://www.cannabis-seed-banks.com/Marijuana-seeds-germination.jpg This is perfect for rockwool
