I just harvested a half pound off one Barney Farm Blue Cheese with 6 plants per 1000w, it was flowered at 18". The Pineapple express next to it yielded 4.5 ounces so it is very strain dependent.

Check out Subcool's growing methods, he pulls 6-8 oz per plant all of the time.

A breakdown of his basic formula:

1) 4000 watt flowering room, cooled and dehumidified properly
2) Extremely strong and vigorous genetics (Some strains yield 2 oz., some yield 16 oz. Depends on variety
3) Use 10 gallon pots with a super-charged soil blend, full of every nutrient the plant could ever need (All organic preferably)
4) Proper veg time (~2 months) under strong HID lighting
5) Enough space, patience, and know-how to deal with the monsters you will see

Oh and the 30+ years of experience doesn't hurt either

Not only will you need a top notch environment, you will also need a lot veg. time(& patience). The key is to have fun and enjoy the learning process.

very easy to pull 1/2 pound per plant. Try out a water farm with gh nutes veg for 5 or 6 weeks under t5 floro's stick your one or two plants under a 1000 watt bulb and you will pull over a pound. or get yourself some real good soil veg for up to three months with regular transplants final pot size being between 15 and 20 gal. place one or two plants under a 1000 watter and you will pull over 1/2 pound per plant every time.

I'd go with a good medium and at least a 10 gl pot if not bigger. I grew a 7 ounce purple kush last winter in a 15 gl bucket under a 6oo.

I use 'Secrets of the West Coast Masters' book by Drew West and am getting 20 zips from one plant under 1000 watt. Not the mythical gram per watt but Im happy. All the info from building the system to training the plant is in there for soil or hydro.

How I do it....8-16 oz per...strain dependent and if not too many hiccups..10 gal containers 4 plants... sealed, minisplit ac, co2 titan 3, two 400 watt cmh PL Lighting Deep reflectors on movers overhead ...400 watt cooltube middle below canopy...8 T5 HO 54 watt actinic/pinks/ Arcadia 12% uvb dependent on phase of growth...Dynagro lineup plus Liquid Karma, Cal-Mag plus, ro water soilees medium supplemented with diatomaceous Earth, dolomite lime and azomite

I got 5.5 oz 12/12 fs with LEDs in organic soil and big container. The plant was sharing the light too, I bet you that in time I could reach 1/2lbs without vegging my plant (12/12 fs)

Achieving 8oz cured bud per plant is not difficult.
-Use T5 grow light for first week of seedling or clone life, then use 1000w for everything else. You can argue all you want with MH vs. HPS-- Use Phillips Son Agro start to finish. Just worry about the hours of light they get for each cycle.
-Use reverse osmosis water.
-Grow Mother or Main plants from high quality feminized seed stock -- Nirvana seeds /thumbs up
-Top plant at 5th node, FIM any and all terminal growth points, apply superthrive as root drench and as foliar spray.
-After 7-10 days after bifurcation (additional split side growth due to loss of main stem) and stress period cut clones for mother plant.
-For normal non-mother plants, FIM all terminal growth points 7-10 days after bifurcation.

--> This process causes the mother or main plants to have a "cradle" of main colas, 4+, similar to an upturned hand. Not only do you increase yield due to multiple main colas, but when plant matures, it naturally bends outward to allow light and air toward the interior of the plant.

-Allow the main plants or clones to grow to 16-18" height, about 6-8 weeks. FIM every new terminal growth point you see, on a 5-7 day schedule. After FIM'ing, the plant needs 72 hours to allow new growth and hormones to equalize. Let the plant settle into a few days of new growth before plucking out the newest nodes, so that maximum dispersion of hormones is possible.
-During the 6-8 week vegetative cycle, apply 100-200ppm of humic/fulvic acids in addition to your fertilization regimen. Foliar spray Ascophyllum Nodosum (Norwegian Sea Kelp) once every 2 weeks, especially on transplant day, the middle of veg, and the day before or after moving to flowering cycle. Use Superthrive every feeding.

***If growing in soil/soilless/coco make sure to feed on regular days, but water with water alone in between. This improves nutrient uptake and overall reduces salt buildup. Flush at least once.
*****A flush is NOT 30 seconds of water. For a 3 gallon container of medium, to would take 4 gallons for every gallon of medium to fully flush -- a total of 15 gallons of plain water for a 3 gallon pot. When I flush, I put my plant in a 50 gal trashcan on an upside down bucket and use a watering wand attached to a pump in another 50 gal trashcan that has 15 gallons of water so it is exact every time. Consider the time it takes; it is important to flush your pots at least once or twice a grow for dirt, and way more often (once a week res changes) for recirculating, closed-loop hydroponic systems.

-After your plants are in flowering cycle, DONT SCREW WITH THEM! For the most part, leave em alone. Besides watering and scouting for pests/mildew, you should only be keeping them from suiciding or breaking off branches, drying up from water intake in excess of 1.5gal per day... etc.

-To gain rock hard, swollen buds, use 250-500ppm CO2 for at least 30 mins a day, and 1 tablespoon of unsulphured molasses a week up to the 4th week of flower.

--> That would yield more than 1/2 pound per plant AFTER cure and manicuring.

If I think of anything else, I will add!

Shouldn't be concerned with how much weight per plant, but how much weight per light. You can do two 8+oz plants under a 600w hps, or one 16+oz plant, or four 4+oz plants, or 8 2+oz plants...ect ect ect.
