How do you kill bed bugs, heres how I did it.

I got bed bugs from a cheap shitty motel and had them for just over a year before I finally eradicated them all. Talk about somthing that mentally fucks you, these things will keep you up at night, months on end. This is going to be a long read.

So now that you have found some bed bugs and are freaking the fuck out STOP! Do not throw all your shit out, thats unnecessary and will more than likely not solve your problem.

DO NOT USE MATRESS ENCASEMENTS I can not stress this enough. Bed bugs can live up to a year and a half and will keep reproducing in the encasement. Even after encasing my matress and hosing it down with alcohol there were still some that lived and low n behold, escaped. Luckly I found them before they got rediculously out of control.

Step 1 is try to find out where they are coming from. Usually in the folds of your matress but like in my case, they were living in the base board in my one closet. Once you locate them you can get a gallon of denatured alcohol from a home improvement store and spray them. Might as well spray some more cracks and crevices and your bed while your at it. Keep a fire extinguisher handy!!! And open all your windows even if its winter. I use a pump sprayer but a spray bottle works too. Remember that shit is FLAMABLE so you might wanna hold off on smoking that blunt untill the air has cleared.

Ok so that knocks down a lot of them but more than likely you have eggs somewhere still waiting to hatch so don't think your in the clear just yet.

Step 2, I went to do my own pest control online and bought a poison called CROSSFIRE. That was after wasting my money on the bed bug sprays at the regular store and even a couple expensive concentrates from this web site. And spraying my house with 5 gallons of alcohol.

Bed bugs are highly resistant to most pesticides but crossfire is a sure thing and is unlike most other pesticides. This shit kills the bugs and eggs which most other pesticide don't kill the eggs. When you look it up online it will seem like it is very expensive, I think like around $45 to make a gallon, and to do a 1000sqft home will take a couple gallons but its still cheaper than hiring some asshole that probably won't cure the problem anyway. Buy a thing of cimexa dust also. Like $10. While your at it, get a couple gallon pump sprayer. Scotts makes one with a green tip that changes to differant kinds of sprays and works great, like $35

Step 3 go to the home improvement store and buy a case of cheap painters calk. That will be like $18 and get a couple cans of spray foam while your at it. I personally get the large gap kind. Dont forget the calk gun either, get the $10 one because the cheap ones suck.

Ok so for like $35 you can get a cheap respirator but last I checked you don't have to have it to spray the cross fire but I personally don't like how it smells.

Step 4 empty all of your dressers into garbage bags, I use 50 gallon garbage bags bag up all on your clothing and put it out side, even the shit in the dirty cloths hamper. Don't forget all of your bedding and pillows and even the clean bedding u have in the closet, bag it all. Declutter your closets and anywhere else that has a bunch of bull shit piled up.

Wait untill we are done spraying the house to take all your cloths to the laundry matt and throw them in the dryers on high heat. You got to stay out the house for a couple hours after spraying anyway so this will give ya somthing to do.

Ok so that about covers everything you need. I know it seems expensive but so is the the therapy your going to need if you have to live with these things for an extended amount of time. Its also cheaper than buying all the other bull shit like I did wasting about $600 till I did enough research and figure it out.

First things first, clean your house. I mean clean clean. I actually bought a nice $55 shop vac to help me get everything my regular vacume would struggle with ( dysons clog up way to fucking easy) Vacume, sweep, mop, dust all the cob webs, hit all the base boards with a broom and any crown molding dont forget behind pictures on the wall. Get your house as clean as clean can be because if you don't, that expensive poison you just bought will go to waste. After vacuming under all your furnature, leave it away from the wall about a foot.

Now that your house is sparkling clean, bust out the calk and calk gun. You need to calk every crack and crevice your can find. This means all the base board, crown molding, wall molding. For real this is going to be a shitty job but it has to be done. Put a thin bead on and wipe it off with ur finger should leave enough to fill the gap but still look nice. A wet sponge helps to get the calk off your finger. After your done remove all switch and plug covers.

Put all food away even if that means sticking it all in the fridge before spraying.

Now that everything is clean and calked up and all the hiding spots are plugged we can mix up the poison. Go exactly by the directions, im pretty sure it's 13oz crossfire to a gallon of water, read the label. Now this poison is unique in the fact that it can be sprayed on everything and once it drys it isn't harmful to humans, one of the only poisons you can spray on your matress. If you get it on table tops, just wipe it off with a wet wash cloth.

Start in the rooms you know they are or were in. Hit all the base boards even if they are calked do it anyway. Spray in your closets all around where a bug might hide. Take out each drawer in your dressers and spray all around in the dresser frame and the drawers. Put that all back togeather. Move your dresser and spray under it and behind it. Spray behind and under all furnature. Spray your entire matress top to bottom, it should be some what damp when your done. Rip the thin cover on the bottom of your box spring and spray everywhere inside and out.

Flip your couches and spray inside them, alot of them have the same thin bull shit covers the box spring has to make it look pretty, get in there and spray. Spray all the nooks and crannies on the couch like where the arms attach and between cushions, the back of cushions and so forth, pretty much any fold or crevice on the couch. Some couch feet have holes in the center on them, check em for bed bugs.

Spray all around crown molding and behind all picture frames, clocks, claenders on the wall. Spray under end tables, kitchen table, desks not the floor but the actual underside, inside them if they are that type. We are spraying EVERYWHERE we can think of that a bug might be able to fit in or where they might have eggs. That includes the vacume chamber that you vacumed everything up with and toss your trash in the garbage cans in your house.

Ok awesome, you did a great job if you listened to everything I have wrote. Now you just have to take the cimexa and puff it into all the plug and switch openings which is why we took all the cover plates off earlier. Once you do that you can put the cover plates back on.

Now take the cross fire and clothing to the laundry matt and run everything thru the dryer on high heat. Remember to bring new garbage bags for the now bug free clothing to go into, do not reuse the old bags. While the cloths are drying go out to your clean car and spray it with cross fire in all the creases in your seats and under the seats and the floors and any other cracks, do not spray your heater vents. Just run the heat, that should take care of anything in there.
Stay out the house till everything drys so like an hr or two, the matress may take longer so dont put anything on it till it is dry. Once it is dry put the sheets and all the other shit back on and your good to go.

Congratulations within a week or so you should be bed bug free. It is recomended to do another light dose 2 or 3 weeks later but that may not be necessary as in my case. This methode works best for single family dwelings, if you live in an appartment its going to be even harder cuz more than likely they will come from you neighbors over time. In this case I would drill holes in my walls between each set of studs and spray the cimexa dust in the walls as a deturant.

Hopefully this helps someone, I lived with them for over a year and it drove me nuts, waking up in the middle of the night all the time checking for bugs, you never get a good nights sleep and even now months later after finding no signs of them I still check for them every now and then in the middle of the night. They will make your life a living hell.

If you have a desk in bedroom check inside your chain and bottom of it. Also I've found bedbugs literally in books. Smart fucks.

Inside chair not chain lol

Isopropyl alchohol works great. Spray weekly until they are gone.

Our kids school got them and they brought them home.

I ordered some micron c from a do it yourself pest control. It's a strong poison. It's approved for bedding and luggage.

Yes, you pour a little out on the carpet and put a lit match to it.
It some cases it may require throwing things away.

Here's how to do it.

For matresses I use the covers but they are brand new. For furniture it may need throwing away.

We gathered all our clothes bedding and anything else similar and put outside in garbage bags. We then emptied every nook and cranny and then cleaned them. A vacuum with bags is handy. Suck them up and throw the bag away. Sprayed the whole house with micron c. We sprayed the edges of bedding and furniture then let off the flea and bedbug bombs. After that we brought the stuff in bags in one load at a time and washed and dried them.

It's a lot of work to properly rid them.

The easiest way is with heat. They have companies that will bring a trailer out and heat your house up. You need to heat the house to 150 degrees Fahrenheit and hold it there for an hour.

Either way it sucks but can be done. I've helped a number of people do it.

Yikes what a nightmare! I love to travel and always fearful of bringing home those awful critters.

I read recently to prevent getting bugs in your suitcases: leave your clothes in your suitcase and don't unpack.

Don't use the drawers in the dressers and basically just remove what clothing you need and zip it back shut.

I used to do pest control. Hated having to do bed bug inspections. Always hated finding them. Paranoia followed.
I did mostly commercial... found bed bugs in coffee shops, movie theaters and more.
Bed bugs are hitchhikers, you can pick them up almost anywhere. Don't be fooled that you can only get them from beds or sofas... I was finding them in the bathrooms of coffee shops... an employee had them and kept bringing them in day after day....

I never encountered this, but I did see some crazy shit indeed

If you wanna run a guest establishment there is no better investment than getting a bedbug dog to come to inspect your place on a fixed schedule.
They tend to use small dogs like beagles and jack russels.

The grossest thing most of us eat is soft serve. You will not believe the shit that grows in those machines.

Beer taps and soda machines can be pretty nasty as well. Bars usually have fruit flies... all the sugars and in most cases, standing water.
